hi! well the setting is after what happened from Covenant please read and review! it's my first fic! :)

No words can explain the heartbreak she felt these days. Ever since hearing from her father that her cousin died from an explosion, her world was shattered. It has been a while since she had seen her cousin, she distinctly remember that her cousin was full of life then, always bouncing from one place to another, looking for stories that will top the news. Yes, her cousin was a very good journalist. She even forced her to like it, but it is just one of those things that she really hates. Maybe, because of her father in the army, and people dying at all places, hunger, war, making news about it, seems foolish.

Before she found out the news that her cousin has died, her name has been in the news. She had written an entirely whole story about Lionel Luthor, which led to the latter's imprisonment. She had been shocked and entirely mad to her cousin for using her name. But then she understood the consequence her cousin has done, days later she found out that her cousin and her uncle has died.

She continued to walk. Remembering the directions of where her cousin's grave is. She hated funerals, that's why she never came when her uncle and dear cousin was buried yesterday. She just can't take it. Well, she hates funerals, as much as hating graves. Graves makes it looks like a final resting place for a love one that had died a place where goodbye is final.

She continued to walk, until she came to the right path. As she walked over there, she can see that she was not the only one that had missed the funeral. Standing at the grave was a man, much taller than she is with brown hair, looking over the grave that matches the pain that she felt. She could not see the face of the man, but she could tell that he is in their age, probably a very close friend of Chloe. She dare not look at his face for she knows that she would only see grief and sadness. She dare not even speak. If the man had noticed her presence, he did not show it.

Seconds, minutes, hours may have passed; neither of them speaks nor acknowledges each presence. Comfortable silence and contentment settled over them. A strong feeling enveloped them, the feeling of love over the one that had died. As time, continues to pass, neither of them stir, neither of them spoke, it was enough sharing the sadness and grief.

Then, the man stirs. She could see that he was leaving. The man walked over to her and handed her a delicate white rose. Without looking up to see the face of the man, she accepted. Still no words, passed between them. Then she looked up to see the back of the man leaving. She continued to look at him, until he is only a speck, then nothing.

She walked over the grave of her cousin, written to it:

CHLOE SULLIVAN
A GOOD FRIEND, COUSIN, AND DAUGHTER
WE WILL MISS YOU!
WE LOVE YOU!

She delicately put the white flower that the man gave her at the top of her cousin's grave then whispered the words, "I will miss you, cuz". Then she turned and started to leave.

Tomorrow, she will go back to Metropolis, and leave Smallville.
