In A Perfect World

I do not own Sonic the hedgehog or any related items, also, many details of this "perfect world"
came from a book called The Giver by Lois Lowry (If you haven't already read it, it's very, very good!)

Prologue

Few of them really know who they are or why they're here. One rumor tells of a cataclysmic explosion, another of a deadly plauge. Before they are brought inside, many speak of war-torn worlds, death, and destruction. The last person they brought in was barely conscious, but his mouth moved ever so slightly. He said one word... the first letter had to be an "M."

When I first came here, they told me I was not to speak with anyone after they passed through our walls. It's very lonely here, just staring out this tiny window. Not many "outsiders" know anything about this place. or maybe they just don't care. Either way, it's terrible.

The people here are taught to act respectfully. They are always to have a suger-coated courtesy about them, it's almost sickeningly sweet to me.
They must follow orders because they don't know otherwise. Is it possible that passing into our "community" brainwashes these poor people so they lose part of their free will?
The people in charge control their thoughts. Sometimes, they must erase so much memory that the people can't remember their own names.
These "controllers" force everyone to live in harmony, always peacefully and blissfully ignorant of everything outside

I hate it here...

I know it's not very Sonic-y yet, but it will be...

...just to let you know right now, I wrote this before Sonic Heroes came out and therefore I am not responible for any plotholes it may cause :P (Though from what I've played... It might actually fit pretty well.)
