Guilty Past
Chapter 2

It was 1:00 in the morning when Millia opened her eyes. The room was dark and quiet. She slowly sat up on the bed, looking around the room. In the corner was a small fish tank and some plants were scattered around the room. There were some pictures on the walls. One was of an ocean scene, and the other a forest. She also noticed there were no windows. "Where am I?" she asked in pure confusion. She did not recognize the place she was in. Millia got up from the bed but had to sit back down, for her head was spinning.

The room gave off a pleasant smell, some sort of fruit. It felt like it was making her head calm down. Once her dizziness backed down Millia tried to stand again, but slowly. She slowly walked over to the tank of fish and squatted to take a better look. There were at least six kinds of fish, tropical and your typical gold fish. One of the fish caught her eye. It was big but beautiful, with a bluish shine to the body, and on the fins had red and touches of black. She also noticed on it belly was more of a yellow shine than blue. Millia listened to the sound of the bubbles rising in the tank, and absorbed the feel of being near water made her feel at ease. All of the troubles vanished deep in thought and body.

Suddenly, the feeling was disturbed by the presence of someone coming. She thought "it must be Zato". She cautiously made her way to the door and rested her hand on the door knob. As the presence got closer and closer, her hand gripped harder on the handle. When the presence was in front of her Millia opened the door to show....nothing. The hall was silent and dark. The hallway was lined with large windows. Her first thought was she noticed it was night. "How long have I been out?"

"For a hole day actually" came a low voice. Millia spun around to see Zato leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "What, a whole day?" Millia said with her eyes wide with question. Zato gave a nod and pushed off from the wall. "I figured you would want the room with the fish, but I apologize there is no windows. This building was made a long time ago, and I thought you wouldn't like the sounds of the outside world." Millia walked slowly to the bed and sat down, and put her head in her hands. Zato could hear a soft cry coming from her hidden face. Zato knew all she wanted was to be left to die, but that was not an option in his book. He walked over and sat down next to Millia. He put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her to himself. He just embraced her in a hug, and she did not struggle or pull away. This reaction surprised him a little, for how distant she had been acting. "Life isn't fair is it? When all seems to go good, it always turns around to something bad." "I'm sorry if I upset you with my thoughts on leaving" said Millia in a shaky voice. Zato just hugged her tighter, stopping the trembling of her body. Millia was glad that he was not mad, but deep in her mind she was screaming for him and the others to end her life. Her life had been spared far too many times.

(Authors Note) I hope I fixed some of the problems, and the next chapter is coming up. But I would like to ask any suggestions for the ending. I'm thinking of when she defeats him in the tournament, or just make up a ending.
