Bethany walked up with her mother through the cemetary. Familiar faces looked their way.All of them were friends of her parents from school. She looked up at her mother's face. She was crying.
"Mommy?" Beth said
"Yes hunny" her mother answered while wiping away the tears
"Where did daddy go?
Hermione Granger stopped walking and looked at her daughter's bright emerald eyes.
Just like her father's
"Daddy went away for a while." She said.
"Where did he go?" Beth asked.
Hermione knelt down to face her five year old daughter's face.
Shes too young. She thought. But she needs to know the truth. Its not fair for her. She would find out eventually anyways.
"Daddy went up to heaven." She said through her tears. "It was his time to go."
She saw her daughter's tears falling down her soft cheeks. She ran her hands through Beth's hair and wiped the tears off the young girl's cheeks.
"Daddy wouldn't want to see you cry." Hermione said softly. They stood up and Ron walked over.
"Hi Beth" he said "Hermione, I need to talk to you for a minute before the ceremony starts."
"Sure Ron." She said "Beth, honey, can you go talk to Ginny for a few minutes?"she got Ginny's attention and she walked over. Hermione and Ron walked a few feet away so that they were under a tree.
"'Mione, I know that you really loved Harry, and I also know that he made you promise to marry me if he died. I don't want to force you to do something that you don't want to do."Ron said
"Its what Harry wanted." She said half-heartidly "Besides, Beth needs a father figure. She's so young."Hermione continued.
Mrs. Weasley walked up and told them that the ceremony would start soon, so they should take their seats.
"We'll talk about this later" Ron said while walking over to take a seat in the front row.
Hermione walked over to Beth and walked her up to their seats. After the part of the ceremony when the closest friends and family put a flower on the casket, Hermione walked back to her seat with Beth. She tried to conceal the tears running down her face, but her daughter spotted them.
