SomeDay
SOMEDAY...[1/1]
Some day my prince will come/ Some day we'll meet again/
Calleigh hummed along with the small song, as she worked on her report.
The song was a favorite of Calleigh's and a certain teenage girl named Callista.
Callista, who was sexually abused at a mere nine years, decided to report the harasser at age 13 to the police. After a few hours of researching, the CSI team found out that there was a sexual harasser going around, and they put two and two together.
Calleigh pushed a stray strand of blonde hair away from her face, letting out an irritated sigh. She had been in the CSI Headquarters for nearly 24 hours now, writing up a report on the bullet casings the abuser left behind.
And away to his castle we'll go/ To be happy forever I know/
As the slow, steady tune floated in her ears, she smiled to herself. Music...her only relaxation from the psychotic chaos the world had become.
Now, the only thing she had to do was find her own prince, to sweep her off her feet, and to his castle.
Some day when spring is here/ We'll find our love anew/ And the birds will sing/
She mused at the thought...there was really only one prince in her life. The man she admired the first time she had laid eyes on him.
Vibrant red hair...intense blue eyes, that seemed to pierce her soul. And a mind that would've boggled even Albert Einstein.
Of course, the body didn't hurt, Calleigh added silently, not noticing the figure coming up behind her, as she sang along with the song.
And wedding bells will ring/ Some day when my dreams come true/
Horatio smiled to himself, as he came up to Calleigh, and heard her sing cheerfully to herself. She always had this...light he was continuously attracted to, ignore it if he may.
The song began over again, and Calleigh began to sing with the words, "Some day my prince will come...Some day we'll meet again...And away to his castle we'll go..."
Her tone was wistful, and Horatio noticed that she seemed to be longing for someone.
As the next phrase came, Calleigh jumped as low voice joined her, "To be happy forever I know...Some day when spring is here...We'll find our love anew...And the birds will sing..."
She turned around, her platinum hair fluttering around her, the tantalizing scent of vanilla invading Horatio's senses.
Her eyes widening, she took in the stance of her supervisor, feet spread, and hands on his hips comfortably. Horatio's sunglasses were off, and tucked nicely in his collar, as his eyes caught hers in an amusing gaze.
"And wedding bells will ring.... Some day when my dreams come true..." Horatio finished, without the addition of Calleigh, due to her speechlessness.
Calleigh shook her head, "Horatio! I thought everyone left..." She trailed off, leaving the sentence for him to finish.
Horatio shrugged, "Had to finish some paperwork up...like you, I see." He nodded to the fallen pen, and Calleigh flushed. "I'm just finished...you need to sign."
Calleigh was standing between Horatio and the desk, but he placed his arms around Calleigh's middle. Not close to touch back to chest, but close enough to give Calleigh tingles, as Horatio's silk sleeves grazed her bare arms while he signed.
"I'll see you later, Bullet Girl..." Horatio replied, straightening up, and flashing Calleigh a full-fledged smile, where his eyes crinkled in the corners, and twinkled with unhidden amusement.
He placed his hand on her shoulder, drawing a small, teasing circle on her bare shoulder, in goodbye, before he left.
Calleigh stood there, surrounded by the CD rewinding itself, and grinned as the familiar music came on.
"Some day my Horatio will come/ Some day we'll meet again...."/
