My first oneshot ever! Jack and Elizabeth (Liz). I think it's kind of sad on Jack's behalf, but why don't you let me know what you think and review!!
The shadows, they represent the time, they keep me company. Though they ask of me nothing and say not a thing at all, I just need a little more silence. Just a little more. I don't want to argue, and it seems like I've thoroughly forgotten what I've been fighting for. I'm searching for the great courage to pull away, though more hell arises when I cut closer to the bone; but it was me who reopened the sore, no other can take that bit of the blame.
The clock ticks along with my now rapid-paced beating of my heart. I plead for heaven to grasp my hand and be the long awaited answer of the painful fight. I got caught up in all there was to offer, and the cost is now too much to bear. Though the past can be undone, we carry the burdens that time always reveals on our backs.
"You scared?" The moonlight reflected off her golden locks through the tinted window from the corner- my only source and connection what I had left to call life. The veil was parted from the killer sun, clearing my vision through its blindness.
"It had to happen someday Liz," I replied. I didn't let my glare reach hers, and the trenches of my heart grew darker. "The more we take, the less we become, eh?"
"Can you taste it?" She questioned me, attempting dearly to find my eyes, my hard, cold eyes.
"Taste what?"
"Those bitter tastes...the one of losing everything?" Her footsteps neared my cell, and her luscious fingers found their way around the iron bars of fate.
"You know, love, only one slip, and the fall is farther than you had ever gone. I've sunk so low, Elizabeth."
"Jack..." she whispered. Her eyes vanished into the distance as I turned to face her. And then I could see in her own that she didn't want to find the fear in mine.
"I warned you, Jack. I told-"I cut her off.
"Liz, please just do me one favor. Please don't come around here telling me 'I told you so.' Okay?"
She nodded, and her feet shuffled towards the door. Just as she began to disappear, she swerved; almost as though she had planned it do to her grace.
"Jack, please just remember for me, you're not in this storybook alone..."
Please REVIEW...Please o Please o Please :)
