Will watched the poker game with disinterest, and looked at all the good company he was surrounded by. But the only person he felt like being near wasn't there. He looked up again and saw Jack heading down to the bunks and decided to follow him.

He crept down the stairs trying to be as sly as possible but he snuck down too hard on one step and it snapped in half with an awful sound. Will went tumbling down the rest of the stairs and right into Annamaria´s room.

"Geez, it isn´t a party without Jack AND Will," Annamaria said grumpily, turning to face Jack slightly and raising her eyebrows.

"Well, we have to talk to you about Elizabeth!" Jack sighed furiously. "Annamaria, it´s not like ya ta act like a wench. Sure, ya can be stone cold but ta actually think that me an´ my love shouldn´ get married? That´s plain crazy."

"Do you want my damn explanation or not?" Annamaria snapped.

Jack rolled his eyes. "Yes." He stage-whispered to Will, "Stand up, be supportive. Eunuch or not, be a good man."

Will complied but glared at Jack for the eunuch remark. He sat down on Annamaria´s bed and smiled at her.

Annamaria drew in a breath and then blew it out, talking quickly and quietly. "Jack, you an´ I were lovers once. That fact can´t be ignored. I gave myself to ya, and ya stole my boat!" She said this with her eyes flashing. "We went on that stupid adventure, chasing Barbossa, blah blah blah- we leave again to uncharted waters to plunder and be free! And then become attached once more. Haven´t ya learned yer lesson? All those Tortuga prozzies love you- an´ you've never had a girl fer more´n a month. God!"

"But I love Elizabeth!" Jack pleaded. Then he glared at Anna. "Fine. Yer still invited to our wedding, but I don´ expect anythin' else from ye. C´mon Will, Liz an´ I have to plan a wedding, first mate or no first mate." With a parting look, Jack stomped up the stairs.

Elizabeth had settled down on the deck watching the poker game. Gibbs appeared to be winning, but she knew Mick Carothers was a crafty bastard.

Jack came back up and she greeted him with a smile. If she was his lady love she could at least act the part. She stood up and kissed him. "Darling, what happened with Annamaria?"

"Don´t start, savvy?" said Jack shortly and rolled his smeary eyes, frightening Elizabeth a bit.

"Well, maybe Will can talk to her, and I really don´t know why she´s like this," Elizabeth said, doing her famous suck-and-pout. It involved sucking in her nose and pouting her lips. She did it so often it was almost involuntary.

"Will WILL talk to her, an´ sort this out because there´s no way in hell I´m gonna let tha´ woman set foot on my ship again if she doesn´ make peace with us." Jack went to the edge of the ship and leaned on it.

"I sincerely hope it won´t come to that," said Elizabeth sadly. But then she rubbed her hands together. "C´mon, our wedding needs to be planned."

They walked over to the bow and looked over the edge. The sea sparkled up at them as the merciless summer sun beat down upon the water, the couple, and the Black Pearl.

"Diamonds," Elizabeth said suddenly. "I want lots of jewels- oh! Jack, my carpet bag- remember? I had a bag with me when we first set sail for Tortuga. I packed it full of jewelry, and I´ve no idea where it ended up. After we´re done planning, will you please help me search? Several of my mum's precious necklaces were in there."

"If they meant so much to ya, why'd ya bring ´em ´long?" Jack asked, stroking her arm. "A pirate can´t be tied down to possessions, ´less it´s ´is ship."

"I was blinded by the idea of being swept away on a fantastic voyage," Elizabeth squealed, clasping her hands together dramatically. "But anyway- I have my mother's dress- what are you wearing?"

"Erm, the clothes on my back?" said Jack cheekily, pointing to his loose shirt, breeches, vest, and sash.

"No, no, no," Elizabeth chided him. "You shall wear one of my father´s suits, and take off that bandanna. You may keep your hair as it is, because I love it- I even love the ridiculous rings round your eyes, believe it or not."

"I believe it," Jack mumbled, leaning against the side, pouting. "Elizabeth, I know this is yer wedding as much as mine, but c´mon, do I look like the type of bloke who´d wanna wear a suit to ´is wedding?"

Elizabeth considered this. She sighed. "You´re right, my dear. Fine. Do you think you could wear what you donned at your hanging?"

Jack burst out laughing, causing Elizabeth to leap away in surprise. "Oh, darling, so few men could hear their wives ask them that, and I´m proud to be one of ´em."

This statement should´ve made Elizabeth smile. Instead, she clasped her hands behind her back and squeezed, making indents with her fingernails. "Good," she said stiffly. In truth, it wasn´t good at all. Was she going to be damned to hell in playing her part in letting Jack escape?

Jack noticed this sudden change in Elizabeth´s demeanor. "Anything wrong, darling?" he asked, with a side smile.

Elizabeth turned away from him and said in a choked voice, "I´m worried about my mortal soul, that´s all."

Jack went around her and put his hands on her shoulders. "Mortal soul? Love, yer never mortal wiv your Jacky by yer side."

"Well, even so, the great Captain Sparrow must succumb to something or other when he´s old and gray?" Elizabeth said.

Jack frowned. What was with his lady crew lately? "Like yer dad?" he spat, and immediately regretted his words when Elizabeth burst into tears.
