Illusory

Summary: She always comes back. [Draco x Ginny]

Disclaimer: Disclaimed.

Author's Note: Also about Malfoy Manor (indirectly). That place is fun.

I do long sentences on purpose. I'm a stickler for grammar and all, but I like the effect the long sentences give the story.

Illusory

It's cold there and the fire blazing in the fireplace doesn't do much to help. She begs him to close a window so she doesn't have to sit on the couch wrapped in blankets but he refuses and tells her to sit closer to the fire. She wonders if he's too lazy to get up and close the windows or if he doesn't care how cold she is. She hopes it's the former, but thinks it might be a combination of the two.

------------------------------
She hears the door slam and asks him who was there, and he gives her an indirect answer and opens the door and leaves. She is almost positive that the visitor was a Death Eater and they're both going to go kill Mudbloods and Muggle sympathizers and then deny it later. She hopes he won't kill anyone close to her, but she can't be sure and she waits by the door 'til he gets home. He finally does, looking angry and clutching his robes against him, and he stomps in and flings off his muddy boots, almost knocking over a table and the vase that it holds. She glares at him and he mutters something about being supportive and clomps up the stairs, stopping a moment to throw his bloody robe down the stairs just to spite her. She picks it up and throws it back at him, still standing at the top of the stairs and watching, and he turns and leaves and all she wanted was a reaction for once.

------------------------------

Sometimes she feels like she's falling. He always catches her and releases her and lets her collapse and he doesn't seem to care. That's how it is tonight; he sleeps in their bed and she sleeps on the couch because she's still that mad at him. He isn't worried, though; she'll come back. She always does.
