ringseeker: okay this is my first Inu Yasha fic so be nice! I hope you enjoy it!
The bitter wind swirled around him and caught his long white hair in its gust. He breathed heavily, his breath rising in a cloud around him. His eyes pierced their target; like icy daggers they stabbed at his hate, his burden, his ultimate rival that for what had felt like eternity he longed to kill. To wipe that imperfection from this world. That half-breed whom his father had doted upon. The mistake that was gifted in owning the Tetsaiga.
At the sight of that marvelous sword being unsheathed he drew in his breath sharply, his heart missed a beat. That sword was the only thing he had his heart set on. It was so unlike his powerless Tensaiga, which was not a sword, but rather a barrier connecting with some invisible force that held him back, kept him locked up. It was his cage, his curse, his father's gift to him.
He saw that bastard running toward him and shouting something nonsensical at him. But the words washed right over him and just the sound was enough to release a new wave of anger as he strongly blocked the Tetsaiga, sending sparks fly.
For that brief second their eyes met he saw the fire, the pure hate in his half brother's golden eyes. Oh, how it reminded him of his father. It was the same look that he had seen far too many times in his father's hard unloving stare. The thought turned him pale and cold. Making his insides writhe with despair and a feeling of unwantedness.
A split second later he realized his mistake of thinking this, of reveling the slightest bit of emotion, of letting his pain get the better of him, of letting his guard down. For the dog-eared mongrul had not held back, did not feel his anguish, and attacked directly.
Shooting pains went up and down his body as the Tetsaiga moved swiftly through him. leaving a strange empty feeling about his left arm. A red thunder cloud arose around him raining his own blood. As he dizzily wheeled backward he struck his attacker back. He mustn't lose this battle; not this time.
