GENRE: ROMANCE/ANGST
What happens when Harry catches Hermione doing something she desperately tried to hide?
Harry sat in the Gryffindor Common Room, eyes drifting between open and closed as he tried to get his potions homework at 10:00 at night. He had put it off for hours to a tutting Hermione to play Wizards Chess with Ron. He regretted it deeply.
His eyes flew open at a startling sound that came from behind him. He scowled and got up to investigate. He turned the corner to find the stairs to the girls dormitory, and a small figure huddled up on the left side. It was Hermione.
"Hermione?" He said softly. "What are you doing up?"
Her head shot up, and her eyes became wide when she realized it was him.
"Harry!" She said. She sounded really weak. "Uh...Nothing I was just-um...uh—" She stammered.
"Hermione? What is it? And what was that noise?" He pressed.
"Oh, that, it was just my----my...-"She said.
"Come on, Hermione. Why are you stammering?" He kneeled down in front of her.
She turned her head away from him and tears formed in her eyes. He sighed and held her chin to face him.
"What is wrong?" He stated.
Just then, something fell from Hermione's hand to the side of Harry's shoe. He stared at it, just long enough to realize that it was a knife. His eyes widened as slow realization poured over him as he looked from the knife to Hermione.
He grasped her arms, pinning her to the spot.
"What the Hell?!" He said, just in time to hear her gasp in pain.
"Ahh! Ah...Haaaarryy!!!!!! Let go of my arm, please!!!" She screamed.
He looked down and rapidly pulled his arm away. He noticed how much it hurt her, so he carefully pulled her sleeve up to reveal slash marks covering her arm.
"Hermione?" He said. "Oh, Mione, why?"
She shook her head as tears trickled down her face.
"Fine. You don't have to tell me, but either way, I'm gonna take you to Madam Pomfrey.
"No--!" She started.
"No protests! Did you really think I'd leave this be? Please! We're going tomorrow, like it or not."
