A/N:: I'm seriously proud of the last chapter of this story, and I hope you all enjoyed it. Kai seems to be fond of the young half cat, and he starts to see that bond grow in this chapter, but he tries to keep himself under control, or he'll end up doing something he might regret. "Through Eyes of Scarlet and Gold"
Kai began to walk around the cold streets of his neighborhood, his hands in his jacket pockets. Only a week had past since he had allowed the half cat to live in his house, and he felt like his hard and ice like exterior was breaking slowly the longer he had him in the house. Kai laid a hand on his forehead, brushing his bangs away from his eyes. He didn't want to admit it, but he had a liking for the young silver haired boy. Since the day he had lost his hard look, and broke down into tears, Kyu had been trying to get him to tell him what happened in the dream that caused him to break down. The scarlet eyed boy didn't know if he had the strength to tell him without going into tears again.
With a slight sigh, the slate haired boy began to make his way back to his house, clutching his sweater tight around himself. He had finally gotten his mind off the thoughts of blood that had been haunting his dreams the past few days, and he was trying to make sure that was the last time he cried in a long time. After a while, he finally made it back to his house, and walked down the halls, brushing the snow from his clothes. As he made his way to his door, he had a soft scent of ice cream, and the sound of the tv blaring from the living room filled his nose and ears. He raised an eyebrow, and opened the door to his house. There laid Kyu, on the couch, his eyes closed in sleep. There was a bowl lying on the coffee table, and the tv was on a channel with mostly ads about jewerly and other products that were on sale. Kai gave out a soft sigh, and made his way over to the sleeping boy, and lifted him from the couch, and headed back to his room.
He opened the door to his dark room, and walked over to his bed, laying the boy into the matress and pillows, and covered him up with the blankets that had been pushed to the end of the bed. The half cat turned in his bed, snuggling his head into the pillow, purring as he slept. The slate haired boy lifted his gloved hand, and allowed it to stroke his silver hair, that was a bit damp from probably taking a shower before going to sleep. His scarlet eyes wouldn't stop the gaze that he had on the sleeping boy, as he saw him take in soft breaths, as his ears slightly twitched at the noises from outside. The hand Kai had on the silver hair found itself on the boy's cheek, gently carassing it. His red eyes found two deep scars on the cheeks on the half cat, that nearly reminded him of the tattoes that he had on his cheeks. Before the slate haired boy could see what he was doing he found his head bent down, his face extremely close to the neko, their lips very close to touching.
Kai found his cheeks blushing madly, and pulled himself away, trying to control the weird urge he kept having to kiss the boy. He replaced his weird urge, and allowed his hand to run itself through Kyu's light silver hair. Feeling the slender fingers going through his hair, the soft gold eyes of the half neko opened, glancing up at the scarlet eyed boy sitting beside him. The other boy didn't seem to notice the half cat was awake. Kyu remembered being on the couch, after eating some ice cream, and finding nothing on tv, so he really had no idea how he ended up in Kai's room, much less when the older boy got home. The silver haired boy didn't want the other boy to know that he was awake yet, so he allowed his eyes to close once again, and drifted back to sleep.
The scarlet eyed boy allowed his hand to run down the neko's innocent looking face, stopping once again as he came to the boy's scarred cheeks. Once again, right after he stopped stroking the other boy's hair, he felt the urge to kiss the cute innocent boy. Kai shook his head, then decided to just kiss his cheek, since he didn't want to wake him, and reveal something he probably shouldn't. Kai bent down again, and softly kissed the slightly tan cheek of the neko. He gently brushed the silver bangs from his face, and stood up, making his way to the living room to clean up the mess in the kitchen and table where Kyu had eaten. He picked up the dishes, and then the remote, shutting the tv off. He went over, and began to start doing the dishes, since it was his job, and he hadn't done it all day. He let out a sigh, as the bubbles from the soap began to slowly float into the air, popping as the reached the ceiling, letting out small sprinkles of water. The Russian boy sets the cleaned dishes to be rinsed off, and laid them on the towels that were on the counter to dry.
Since Kyu was using his room, he decided to go to the bathroom to change into his evening clothes, since it was around 10:56, and he was feeling tired anyway. He snuck back into the room, and grabbed his usual sleeping closes, and made his way back to the bathroom, beginning to change. He threw his flame decorated tank top into the washing bin, along with his black belt pants, and brushed his slate bangs from his eyes. Letting out a sigh, he went through the living room, turning off the lights, and then made his way into his room, where the young boy was still lying in bed, probably turned over a few times from the noises coming from outside. Kai made his way over to the window, and closed it, since the sirens, and cars driving by, and people chattering were getting on his nerves. He climbed into the bed, and laid the velvet blankets over himself, trying to close his eyes to sleep.
Just as he thought his body was going to let him sleep, he felt a clawed hand lay itself on his chest. His scarlet eyed opened, and turned to his side, to see the young half cat was looking at him, his gold eyes soft, and showing a emotion that the older boy couldn't make out. He could tell just by looking at him. He was still concerned about what happened in Kai's dream, which he still hadn't told him yet. At the moment, he didn't think he was ready to say it yet, and began to lift himself from the bed, so he could sleep on the couch. Before he could move another inch, the clawed fingers were then laced around his wrist, keeping him in place. The slate haired boy turned, seeing how strong the cat was, despite his age, and build. He simply stood there, and the young boy laid his cheek on his hand, like on the first day he met him.
"...Kai...why won't you tell me what happened?" Kyu whispered, "The more you hold it off, the more of a burden it's going to be on your shoulders..."
"I...Kyu..." Kai tried to pry his hand from the younger boy's grip, but it seemed he couldn't get away from the concerned neko, "I... I just don't want you hurt...any worse than when I saw you--"
"In your dream?" Kyu finished his sentence.
"..."
"Kai...sit back down." Kyu tugged him, motioning for him to get back onto the bed.
Kai really didn't have the place to say no, since the boy wasn't going to let go of him anytime soon. He brought himself back onto the bed, and laid his back near the headboard. Even now, Kyu didn't let go of his wrist, as the boy scooted closer to him. Before the scarlet eyed boy could protest, Kyu had him pulled over, and his head was lying on the cat's shoulder, as he felt the clawed fingers of the boy going through his slate colored bangs. He could feel the purr coming out of the neko's mouth, as if trying to comfort him somehow, which seemed to be working, since Kai began to slightly relax his tense muscles. The gold eyed boy laid his hand on the older boy's waist, bringing him into a warm embrace.
"It's alright, Kai...I won't be hurt....the only thing worrying me is you hurting yourself inside...please don't hold it in any longer than you have...tell me what happened. If you cry," Kyu laced his claws into Kai's hair, "I'm right here..."
Kai felt his shoulders slightly fall below his neck, as his face had been buried into the cat boy's shoulder. Was he ready to tell Kyu about his dream where he saw him die? He would never know until he tried. He couldn't tell how the younger boy would react to his news, but he wanted him to tell him, and Kai couldn't hold it in any longer, so he lifted his face from the neko's shoulder, and looked into the pair of soul touching gold eyes, and closed his own scarlet.
"In my dream...I had been beaten very badly by my grandfather and his close assisstant, Boris. I could barely move, and there was blood everywhere around me. Before I knew it, my grandfather, Volitare, ordered Boris in Russian to go get someone, and when he returned...he came in with you, having a knife to your neck." Kai saw the gold eyes slightly widen, "The look of fear in your eyes had me worried, and I tried to get Volitare to release you, but he wouldn't listen, and said they would spare you if I surrendered myself to Black Dranzer...then...before I could give my answer, you clawed Boris, which caused him to throw you back, and slash you with his knife across your chest, making you bleed heavily. I was able to catch you...but then...you mouthed something I couldn't understand, and then...you died..." Kai looked up once again to see the boy looking extremely surprised, "After that, I felt my rage take over, and I took the knife Boris had killed you with, and ran it through his heart, killing him, and then I threw the knife at Volitare, sending him to hell as well. Then, I lifted your body into my arms, which you went back into your cat form...and then...I woke up..."
Kyu golden eyes were wide with shock and concern. In Kai's dream, he had died, and Kai went mad and killed his grandfather and his assiasant. Kyu saw silver glints begin to appear in the scarlet eyes as they were nearly buried behind his slate bangs. The cat reached out, and brought Kai into a hug, beginning to wipe the tears from his eyes. He could hear the sobs being choked on, and he felt his untied japanese top being soaked with the teen's tears, but he didn't seem to care. He closed his golden eyes, and stroked the boy's back, feeling the sobs start to slow after a while. The black cat tail began to flick, until it seemed to act on it's own, and laid itself around the slate haired boy. The scarlet eyes opened, as he gently lifted himself up, finally seeing the tail around his waist, and then the small clawed hand was laid on his cheek.
"Go to sleep now, Kai...I'll wake you in the morning." Kyu whispered, as he pushed Kai onto the bed, and covered him with the velvet covers.
The slate haired teen didn't think he would have to strength to go to sleep after what had just happened, until he felt the younger boy lay one of his arms around his waist, and began to purr softly, laying extremely close to him. The peaceful and innocent look was back on the young boy's face, as his other hand was on Kai's cheek, carassing it. After a minute of the cat's comforts, Kai finally felt sleep take over, and closed his eyes, his entire body relaxing. Kyu saw the strain and pain disappear from the Russian boy's face, as he smiled lightly, and brought the blankets over himself, and snuggled Kai, falling asleep himself.
