Kenshin P.O.V....Upon what I like to so eloquently call the "Enishi Arc"...

You turn around and smile,
I can still see your face,
Call me in denial,
But I can still feel your grace.
I promise I will avenge your death,
No matter how long it takes,
But even this promise that I have kept,
Will never take your place.
I remember seeing your lifeless eyes,
The blade ripping through your heart,
I felt the pain of a thousand knives,
Tearing us apart.
I remember meeting him upon the sand,
His smirking, vengeful sneer,
I remember holding my blade in hand,
Until you wandered near.
My heart nearly stopped with your presence,
My mouth open agape,
I realized this miracle heaven sent,
And the kinder side of fate.
So as we begin the duel,
I realize the extent of this fight,
And if I need the extra fuel,
I can find it in your eyes.
