The Other Child

~Chapter ten~

I can't believe that I'm going through this again.

Today Yoru is having her baby. But I feel better than I did when Bo ad her baby. I think we all did. We've done this before and it's no big deal. Though I think Kurama may be hyper-venalating...

I sat on the floor with Kaiska. By now she had practically a full head of very dark brown hair, and she had gray eyes. But they weren't dismal or drab. The gray eyes were actually pretty cool. Kaiska was a very happy child. That I'm glad for, she rarely cries.

For some reason I could go on and on about her. I never thought I could feel this way for someone.

Finally Yukina came downstairs.

"Kurama," she said. "You can go see her now."

Kurama looked up for a moment his eyes wide and sleep deprived. Then he dashed upstairs.

Bo and I waited. Kaiska had cuddled up and was asleep on the couch. I fumbled for something in my pocket. Leaning over I kissed Bo on the cheek and slid the ring on her finger. She smiled and nodded.

Silent exchange. But it worked for me. I actually would rather have it that way. But who cared? We were going to get married.

About an hour later Kurama came back downstairs with the baby.

"Is Yoru asleep?" asked Bo. Kurama nodded.

I looked at the baby. It was okay. Not as cute as my Kaiska. It was a boy; Kurama told me its name was Yuuga.

After about five minutes Yoru lazily floated downstairs and made a beeline towards Kurama. He handed her Yuuga and she drifted back upstairs. Bo followed her. Kurama sighed and sat down.

"See not so bad," I told him. He nodded and smiled wearily. The only person that had gotten sleep was Kaiska.

I gently ruffled her hair. It really wasn't horrible being a parent I guess. But then you start to think; now there are two of them. I try not to dwell on the past. And maybe I should stay out of the future. But then, what does the future hold for Kaiska. And Yuuga too I guess.

She blinked her eyes at my touch, and then kind-of cuddled farther into the pillow she was leaning on. Kurama had fallen asleep with his head still rested in his hands. I carefully collected Kaiska and brought her upstairs to bed. I stood watching her for a moment then went to find Bo. The past 24 hours had been shall we say a little hectic. But for some reason the silence that filled the hour laid an aura of calm. It settled my thoughts. The future would be something to wait for.

Okay you guys can say it. This chapter was kind of so so. Not a lot happened and the ending of it was so so. So um okay. I dunno when the next chapter will be up but I'm going to write a prologue story about when Yoru and Boku first meet and stuff. So I guess that's it for now. Check out my other stories. They're no Other Child but the summaries are really bad so just take my word for it and check 'em out kay?
