Kagome snuggled peacefully into her blanket. She gave a calm sigh, fell asleep, and gave a loud, sleepy, snore.
Inuyasha was sitting in his sleeping bag, looking at Kagome. "She looks so gorgeous when she sleeps," Inuyasha murmured to himself. Carefully, he reached over and gently ran his claws through her hair. In her dream, Kagome gave a contented sigh, and turned over on her back.
Suddenly, a big ball of fur unexpectedly pounced on Inuyasha. "Inuyasha!" Shippo yelped cheerfully. "I can't fall asleep, so can you play with me?"
"Go back to sleep Shippo," Inuyasha said grumpily.
"Please? Pretty please?" The naughty fox-demon pleaded.
"Is the only thing you think about playing?" Inuyasha shook his head. "I oughta whack some sense into your idiotic little brain."
"That's not true," Shippo muttered. Then, brightening up, he asked, "If I admit that it's true, will you play with me?"
"Feh." That was the only response Shippo received from him.
"C'mon…" Shippo begged him. "It's not like you're going to sleep, I just saw you toying with Kagome's hair before, and you said something about her sleeping—"
That was about as far as Shippo got, because Inuyasha grabbed Shippo by his tail, and shook him up and down. "If you tell anyone what you just saw," Inuyasha growled menacingly. "If you tell one soul, you flea-bitten animal, I'm gonna kill you with my bare hands."
"Okay, okay!" The mischievous fox-demon whined, making a mental note to tell Sango and Miroku first thing the next morning. "Just put me down, okay?"
Inuyasha dropped Shippo, as the little fox demon yelped and scrambled onto his feet. "Next time," Shippo said reproachfully. "Don't drop me 10 feet from the ground."
Inuyasha shrugged and scratched his back leisurely. "You deserved it." He grumbled.
"Well," Shippo declared. "I'm going to sleep."
"Be my guest."
Shippo turned around, and crawled into the sleeping bag with Kagome. Kagome gave a soft sigh, and turned around on her back.
Inuyasha tried to go to sleep, but he couldn't stop staring at Kagome. At last, he took one last look at Kagome's face, and settled into his own sleeping bag to go to sleep.
