The Rise of the Three

Chapter One

Like every other day, the Powerpuff Girls were sitting at home enjoying a good TV show after defeating yet another villain. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, the Gangrene Gang, and nearly every other villain was either in jail, or had recently been defeated and wasn't ready to try another attack for quite a while. All they had to worry about was the Rowdyruff Boys and Him.

Meanwhile, deep within Him's lair, the Rowdyruff Boys were searching through boxes of evil objects in Him's closet for something to play with. "What the heck?! You mean to tell me that out of all of this crap, there isn't ONE freakin' football?!" said Brick as he threw one of the boxes across the room. "Hey, I think this thing is shaped close enough to a football to be a substitute!" called Butch, holding up a rather large blue gem. Brick's expression filled with joy as he looked at the gem. "Alright! Throw it to me already!" said Brick excitedly.

Brick prepared to catch it, while Butch threw it towards Brick as fast as he possibly could. Though unlike the football they were using it as, upon it not being caught by Brick and hitting his head, it imbedded itself in his skull. Brick fell backwards with a yell as Butch and Boomer flew over to him. "Dude, are you al-"Butch wasn't able to finish, as his face was soon pounded in by a furious Brick. After giving Butch a good pummeling, Brick turned to Boomer and asked him to go get Him to help get the gem out of his skull. Though Boomer wasn't really paying attention, as he was just staring at the gem. "Hey Brick, ya have some shiny blue thingy in your head," said Boomer. Boomer was next in line for a punch in the face as Brick flew off to go get Him.

"Oh, there's nothing I can do abut that, Brick." Said Him, looking at the gem lodged in Brick's forehead. "Well what the heck am I supposed to do about it?!" yelled Brick, desperately wanting to get rid of the gem, which looked rather goofy on his head. "Oh, you'll like what it can do for you, boy. Just wait for it to take effect," replied Him with a chuckle. Brick flew away frustrated, knowing that asking what he meant would only get him a nonsensical riddle.

Later that night, while his brothers were asleep, Brick was wide- awake, but not because of the pain from the gem, but because he kept having visions of what looked like the apocalypse. He didn't know whether to be scared or happy about the scenes of total destruction and vast armies of Hell-spawned beasts. Brick was starting to have a very strange feeling throughout his entire body. He looked at his hands, and saw that his skin now had a slight reddish color to it and that he had very small claws sprouting from his fists. Him looked at Brick from above, not letting him realize that he was there. "So, it seems that the soul stone can take over one who is already evil much, much faster than a hero...this will be perfect," thought Him, marveling at the metamorphosis that was taking place within Brick's body.
