Chapter Five- Acceptance and Assistance

Harry sat in the corner of the room of requirement reading then re-reading the letter he had just received. The letter was from Gringott's and had been sent to Harry regarding Sirius' will. Although Dumbledore had told him that he had inherited Grimauld place it appeared that he had to go to a reading of the will on Saturday to make it all final.

Harry had been sitting here for the last half hour lost in thought. 'Why?' he thought 'Why is it everyone dies for me? If im really the powerful one that the damn prophecy speaks of why don't I have the power to save them?' Harry groaned inwardly in frustration. He hated being the survivor and he hated that he had to be unless he wanted the rest of the world to fall to Voldemort.

Harry sat for a few more moments glaring at the letter before the DA began to walk in. Since they had began tutoring a week before there had been no time to have DA. They had needed to study the materials they had been given and rarely had time for anything else.

Harry stood before the group of students looking across the group as he began to talk. "Good evening everyone, tonight I will be talking to you all about something I plan to do after the Christmas brake. As you all know in my second year I was forced to go into the chamber of secrets to stop a basilisk." Harry paused for a moment looking at Ginny who was staring at her lap.

"I have recently talked professor Dumbledore into turning it into a room much like the room of requirement. The only difference is it has preset rooms that you can call upon instead of just imagining what you require. I plan on using the original chamber to test you all to take place after the Christmas holidays, there will be no meetings between now and this time so I ask you all to study different curses and jinxes that you might be able to use in situations where you are forced to fight or to reveal traps." Harry smiled mischievously at the students. "Traps planted by the Weasley twins and I."

Ron, Hermione and Ginny looked especially worried when he said this. They knew what he had behind him when it came to pranks. He was the son of a Marauder and an investor in the twins store. When those three got together there is bound to be trouble.

Harry dismissed them the DA and stood next to the door saying goodbye to those who were leaving straight away. Ron, Hermione and Ginny stayed behind to talk to him. They all looked a bit on edge as he shut the door and sat down but it wasn't long till they all started asking questions at the same time.

"Hold up there," Harry laughed "One at a time."

Hermione started first. "Harry this thing after Christmas in the chamber of secrets. What is it?" Harry smiled at her with mischief in his eyes. "Your not going to tell us are you?" Harry shook his head and Hermione huffed in indignation. "Harry with this group we are forming what are going to call ourselves?" Ron asked eagerly. "I thought the order of the Prophecy, or the Hogwarts Rebellion sound good." Ginny and Hermione snorted as Harry tried not to laugh.

"No Ron I thought the Next Generation Marauders has a nice ring to it. We could be the NGM for short. I think that it would pose an excellent front to hide what we will be doing. Snape of course would think he knew who the Marauders are led by but we cant let him realize he knows the truth." They all nodded in agreement and Ron and Hermione rose to leave saying they had a prefects meeting.

Harry looked across at Ginny who hadn't talked since he had to stop everyone from talking and was now staring off into space. Harry called her name a few times before she realized he was talking to her. He saw a look of fear in her eyes that he could relate with. She knew what it was to feel like you had no power over yourself, to be possessed and feel responsible for what you couldn't have stopped.

"What's wrong Ginny?" She looked back at Harry in silence. Harry moved closer to her and talked to her quietly. "Ginny what's wrong? Is it the Chamber of Secrets test?" Ginny nodded silently and Harry put his arm around her shoulders and sat in silence as he felt her shiver against him.

They sat like this for a quarter of an hour before Ginny spoke. "Harry it just scares me to think I will have to return to that place. So many problems came out of there and it was all my fault. You nearly died down there because of it." Harry shook his head and put his over her mouth to stop her from continuing.

"Ginny don't ever blame yourself. You were tricked and possessed. Many stronger and wiser people have fallen to Voldemort and his Deatheaters through tricks and deception. I nearly died protecting someone and something I care for more then anything." Harry stopped for a moment to look into her eyes before he continued. "Before I came to Hogwarts I had nothing and in my second year when you were taken it ripped us all apart. We thought we had lost you. Ron and I couldn't let that happen to your family, you had all been to good to me and as you were his sister we refused to take it sitting down. Nothing could have stopped us going in there after you, nothing. Besides if it hadn't been you Malfoy would have given the diary to someone else and I would have followed them to."

Harry continued to look into her eyes. Some of the fear had gone and her eyes were filling with unshed tears. "It was never your fault. The only ones to blame are Lucius Malfoy and Tom Riddle, their the ones who did it. They used you and you couldn't have stopped it."

They sat there for a few more minutes before Harry looked at Ginny's watch and realized it was nearly curfew. "We'd better get back to the Common room before curfew or Hermione will have us serving detention with Mcgonagall." Ginny giggled at the reference to their rule abiding best friend.

They returned to the common room slowly using the marauders map to make sure they didn't run into anyone that they wanted to avoid. When they arrived at the common room Harry leaned over to Ginny and her ear he whispered "Get the gang together and meet me in Moaning Myrtles on Friday afternoon, Im going to give you all extra tutoring." She nodded before heading up to bed.

Harry walked into his dorm and flopped onto his bed. He was asleep as his head hit the pillow.

Harry stood waiting in Dumbledore's office on Friday afternoon. He had to talk to him about the reading of the will to take place the next morning before he went to see the others to tutor them in the chamber of secrets. He walked over to Fawkes as the phoenix trilled his song lightly. The phoenix had always brought hope and warmth to Harry.

"Harry, shouldn't you be with your friends? It's the beginning of the weekend." Dumbledore looked at Harry with the twinkle in his eye that always made Harry feel like he was hiding something.

"Sir I received a letter from Gringotts on Wednesday. I am meant to be at a reading of Sirius' will tomorrow at noon. I thought I should tell you so that you can decide whether I should go or not." Harry stated still not taking his eyes off fawkes.

Dumbledore nodded. "Yes I received a letter as well. Meet me here at half past eleven and we will take a portkey to Diagon Alley." Harry nodded and began to leave. "Harry whilst you are here might I have a word with you?" Harry stopped and turned to look at the aged headmaster who waved his wand producing a seat for Harry to sit on.

"We have both been so busy that I have not been able to speak to you properly since after the Diagon Alley attack but I think we should talk about this power you are beginning to show. Professor Moody tells me that you beat him in your Duel in your first Tuitions class. Professor Moody told me you were able to summon a dragon illusion to surround him whilst you fixed yourself from a cutting charm. We do not actually teach illusion magic at this school because it is a subject of its own therefore we do not have books in the library on it so I was wondering were you learnt of this magic."

Harry looked at the headmaster. He didn't want to reveal that he could do it well but he could tell Dumbledore where he learnt it. "It was in a book in the room of requirement. I practiced it a fair bit over the past few weeks but I have not been able to summon something like that since. It surprised me that I did it at all it just happened."

Dumbledore nodded "I understand Harry. You should keep it secret that you can do illusion magic, it could come in quite handy one day. Have a good evening Harry and I'll see you tomorrow morning."

Harry walked out of the office and down toward the bathroom. He entered and found the group waiting for him. "Sorry had to see Dumbledore." They all nodded in understanding as he walked over to the sink that held the entrance to the chamber of secrets. Harry held his wand over the sink and said clearly "Chamber of Secrets"

Harry stepped back as the sink slid out of place revealing an old stone staircase. 'The professors must have put that in' Harry thought before turning to the others. "Okay im going to give you all some extra lessons and help when fighting your way through a maze. I will not tell you what the test is going to be but I'll just say that you will be fighting to get out of there conscious. Your life will not be at stake but you could get injured." He looked around at his friends before beginning to walk down the stairs.

When they reached the bottom he led them through the door into the chamber itself. Harry was glad to see that the professors had left everything the same. "Okay as you can see this place is pretty big, this chamber itself could hide many unseen things." He walked over to a pillar and sat down against it. "Before I begin to teach you what to do in this chamber I want to see you all face your greatest fears." He pulled some disks from his pocket and held one in his palm.

"When I release this disk a boggart will appear. It is only an illusion but it is able to take the form of your greatest fear. If it's a person I want you to duel with them, I have no control over them but am here if you need me. If it's not human get rid of it because if its not a person I have done as I set out to achieve." They all nodded slowly. "Now who wants to go first?"

Everyone looked at each other before Neville stepped forward. Harry nodded at him appreciatively before asking "Ready?" Neville gave a stern nod as he drew his wand. Harry threw the disk on the ground and the form immediately took the form of Bellatrix Lestrange.

Harry stared at that women as he heard the cackling laugh that came out of her mouth. Harry watched as Neville jumped into action throwing off stunning curses and body binds trying to restrain the cackling deatheater.

The sound of Bellatrix's laughter made Harry want to throw up. He had heard it last in the department of Mysteries when she had hit Sirius with a stunning spell sending him falling into a veil from which he didn't return. Harry pushed his frustration behind him as he saw Neville's determined face twist in pain as he was hit by a hex.

Neville stumbled and began to fall but Ginny and Ron leapt forward to catch him.Harry immediately jumped forward and the Boggart turned into a Dementor. "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" The stag jumped from his wand and pushed back the Dementor. "Ridikulus!" The Boggart disappeared in a whisp of smoke and a loud bang.

Harry fell down next to Neville who was bleeding from his leg and shaking. He looked at the wound before turning to the others. "Help me get him to the hospital wing." They lifted him under the arms and began to drag him to the hospital wing.

They burst through the doors and into the hospital wing, Harry left Ron, Hermione, Luna and Ginny to put him Neville on a bed. "Madam Pomfrey!" Harry was yelling as he beat on her office door.

"What is it Potter?" She asked in an aggravated tone.

"Its Neville, he's been injured by a Bogart." Madam Pomfrey ran toward the bed that the others were standing around. She took one look at the wound and said "Everyone out. Ill fetch you when we are done." She immediately began looking at the wound and prodding around it with her wand as they walked out the door.

The group sat in silence in the hall outside the hospital wing. Harry had got another person hurt because of something he had done. He cursed inwardly as he put his face in his hands.

"What happened Harry?" Dumbledore asked with his eyebrows raised. Harry looked up at Dumbledore not knowing what to say.

"Neville was Dueling a Deatheater that his Boggart turned into." Ginny said quickly "We were in the chamber of secrets and there was a Boggart so Harry said we should all try and face our fears but his boggart got the better of him."

Dumbledore nodded and looked at Harry. "What's wrong Harry? Neville will be fine."

"He needed my help and I couldn't help him. I was to far into my own thoughts to do anything when he needed me." Harry stood and walked off through the castle. He walked out the front door and down to the quidditch pitch where he climbed the stands and sat at the top.

He could feel the cold Autumn breeze whipping away at his robes and hair as he looked out over the quidditch pitch. He had so many good memories in this place. Winning the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup and constantly beating Slytherin but then he had some memories that he would rather forget.

The fourth task of the Triwizard tournament was held here. Thoughts of Cedric dying swept through his mind before he snorted and shook his head to escape the thoughts of 'Just another person I've let down.'

Harry sat in the stands till just before curfew before he snuck up to Gryffindor tower to fall into a deep sleep as he hit his bed.
***

Harry stood inside the Headmasters office at eleven thirty the next morning. The headmaster had gone to retrieve his letter from his quarters and Harry now stood petting Fawkes once again.

The headmaster came back into the office carrying his letter and a book. He smiled at Harry and held up the book "Portkey" he said simply before holding it out to Harry. They both took hold of it and Harry immediately felt a jerking sensation at the back of his navel. The world turned to a spinning blur before coming into focus again in the foyer of Gringotts.

Dumbledore motioned for Harry to follow him as he walked toward a goblin at a high desk in the center of the room. "State your names and business." The Goblin said quickly.

"Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter. Here for the reading of Sirius Blacks will." He nodded and motioned to a door on the left of the room.

Harry and Dumbledore entered the door to find another goblin sitting at a table and holding a sheet of parchment. "Mr. Dumbledore, Mr. Potter, its good you could make it. This will not take long. Please sit." Harry and Dumbledore sat in the seats provided as the Goblin lifted the parchment and began to read.

"In the event of my Death I Sirius Black will distribute my belongings as follows: Mr. Albus Dumbledore you have always been good to me and helped me when I needed it, to you I give Ten Thousand Galleons to do as you wish. If I did not know you I would suppose that you would keep it but unfortunately I do know you so ill say this. If you don't keep it use it to aid the School or the Order. Those are the only two places that I know that stand for what is right." Dumbledore chuckled lightly and nodded.

"To the Weasleys I leave Eighty thousand galleons to be split into tens and put in respectable accounts for each member of the family. I then leave them a further ten thousand galleons to be put in a trust fund for Percy who is not to know about it and will only be able to receive it if he makes a full amends with his family. If this does not happen within four months of this reading the money will be put into the Weasley family account. To Hermione Granger I leave ten thousand galleons. To My good friend Remus Lupin I leave twenty thousand Galleons. Use it well Moony."

The goblin paused for a moment to have a drink of water before continuing. "Harry I have written in my will that only you and Dumbledore are to be present at this reading. The others will have received letters upon your arrival telling them what they have received but I don't know if they know about what I have to say so I'll just say it. Dumbledore promised me that in the event of my death he would inform you of a certain prophecy. I want to tell you that I believe in you and I hope that it does not stop you from being a normal kid. I want you to have fun, live life and date girls. So that you can enjoy yourself as much as you please I am leaving you a box about the size of your trunk that James and Lupin and I put together for you when you were born. It holds items that we used to have fun at school as well as documentation on how we made and did everything we achieved." Harry looked at Dumbledore who just looked at the ceiling and said "I appear to have gone temporarily deaf."

Harry laughed as he looked back at the goblin. "I leave you Harry the Key to the black vault and the key to my own vault. Together there is at least another six million galleons that you can do as you see fit with. I also leave you deeds to both my house and the black house. I hope you don't blame yourself for whatever has happened to me Harry. I also hope I went down fighting for you and if I did please do not blame yourself because if that's how I went my life was not wasted. If ever you need someone to talk to or help you Im sure Moony would be happy to help. Have a good life Harry."

The goblin laid down his sheet of parchment and handed Harry an envelope. "there is the key to the Black family vault, Number 256 and in this one," He produced another envelope "Is Mr. Blacks own vault key its number 345. Thank you for coming today." The goblin bowed deeply and walked out the back of the room."

Harry rose to leave when Dumbledore opened the door but Dumbledore stopped him. "Harry is there anything that you want to get while we are here?" Harry thought for a moment before nodding.

"I'd like to go down to Sirius' vault."

***

Ten minutes later Harry found himself standing before Sirius' vault. The goblin turned the key and the vault creaked open. Harry gaped at the piles of gold that filled the vault. Harry stepped inside and filled his money bag with all the galleons that would fit before looking around for the box that Sirius had mentioned in his will.

He pushed some gold aside and found it sitting in the corner. He lifted it and Carried it out to Dumbledore. "Sir is there any chance you could shrink this for me?" Dumbledore nodded and waved his wand over the box. It became about the size of a wallet and Harry put it in his pocket.

They got on the cart and rode it back to the foyer. Dumbledore then waved his wand and the book appeared in his hand that they had used as a portkey. He held it out to Harry and Harry took the other end. After a whirling sensation Harry and Dumbledore found themselves in Dumbledore's office. Harry bid the headmaster good day before walking out of the room and heading to the Hospital wing to visit Neville.

He thought about the past few hours and realized that he was no longer hurt by Sirius' death. He missed Sirius but he now understood that Sirius had wanted to do this for him and nothing could have stopped it. He had excepted he was gone.

Harry smiled to himself as he entered the hospital wing. This is the best he had felt in a long time. He walked over to Neville's bed to find the whole gang smiling up at him. Ron Hermione and Ginny had letters in their hands bearing the Gringotts seal.

"Alright Neville?" Neville nodded as he smiled back at Harry.

"Im fine Harry. She just got me a good one when I wasn't concentrating." Harry nodded.

"Are you guys still up to training?" they all nodded before Harry continued. "Well I have just inherited a large fortune as well as a trunk from my father Sirius and Lupin that holds the secrets behind everything the Marauders got into." They all looked at him in surprise before Ron grinned goofily and said "Brilliant".
