Final Fantasy XI: A Heroes Tale

Irith awoke from his slumber, sitting up he waited for his vision to become clearer. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he swung his legs round and stood up, however the lack of sleep he received made him dizzy and he staggered to find his balance. Proceeding to the wash room, he filled the basin with warm water took a nearby cloth and began washing his face and neck. After, he returned the bedroom and began rooting through drawers for suitable clothing for him to wear. Pulling out his Tunic, Slacks and boots he walked towards a bed side drawer and took out a pair of simple gloves. Dressing himself he walked towards the fire place, leaning next to it was a Broadsword and a Marine Shield. Sheathing the sword and sliding his left arm through the handles on the shield, Irith proceeded out the door.

'Today,' he thought to himself. 'I will finally be at a high enough level to upgrade my armour. No more tunics and weak leather gloves. Today I can finally get that Centurion armour set I've wanted so badly. Maybe if my gil will last me I can get a better sword too.'

Walking down towards the Lion Springs Tavern he saw a large crowed gathered down 'Squire Alley'.
"Probably Andecia sending people on quests again" he muttered to himself. Pushing the large oak door aside, he walked slowly into the tavern. For everyone turned to look at the new customer. Ignoring the eyes following his every move Irith took a seat next to the far window and waited to be served.

'God, what is taking them so long? It's not like this is the breakfast rush hour. Although, if they don't hurry it up I'll be caught up in it.' Irith ranted to himself.

Finally, after what seemed like ten minutes the waitress stood behind the table. Looking down on him, but to him it wasn't intimidating in the slightest.

"What would you like to order?" asked the waitress in a monotonically sleepy voice.

"Still half asleep?" Irith inquired. "Hmmm..? Sorry I missed that, say it again would you?" she replied as she was brought back to the 'real world'. "Never mind" he sighed, "I'll have orange juice, a rice ball and Dhalmel steak please. "Sorry, but were all out Saruta oranges, you'll have to order something else." "Do you have any Pineapple juice then?" "No, I'm sorry. But our shipment of Kazham pineapples was ambushed by the Yagudo." "Okay... What do you have to drink then?!" asked Irith who was now becoming very frustrated. "Well there is our famous San d'Orian tea..." "Fine, I'll have that then." "The Selbina milk is a bit sour though..." "Didn't you here me?! I said I'll have the damn tea!!" fumed Irith. "Okay, there's no need for you to get so irate about it. Geez..." called the waitress over her shoulder as she went to confirm his order.

Irith placed his head in his hands. Soon the waitress returned with his order and placed it in front of him. He looked up...the steak was burned. Turning to face the waitress he was met with an evil glare, which she then turned and walked back to the counter.

'This...' he thought, ' is going to be a very bad day...'
