And time will turn these cares to dust
It's bigger than the sum of us
Just let go
Mountain lets the river flow
Just let the west wind
Carry your cares away
Far away

If anyone had told me I would end up in Treize's bed, singing him to sleep - I might have laughed at him or her. Yet here I am, running my fingers through his hair, his arms wrapped loosely around me. I sense more so then see his breathing start to deepen; slowing down as sleep overtakes him. And I am glad, because he shouldn't have those shadows under his eyes.
When the lyrics come to an end, I just hum the tune softly, answering his question with a 'hmm?' - I'd forgotten how soothing those childhood songs were to me. Are to me. I have him to thank for it, tonight at least. Tomorrow still, I'll be his bodyguard. But the day after... We shall see.
"Such a pretty voice."
I've heard many lilts in his tone. When he's pleased, when he's angry, when he's amused. But nothing quite like this a half-rumbled purr of contentment and sleepiness. A voice you'd want to wrap yourself up due it's warmth and listen to forever. Yet he says mine is pretty. I just smile, although he can't see and reply.
"To bring you pleasant dreams, Treize."
"Be here when I wake up..."
A question but not. He doesn't want to ask, for fear I'll say no. Yet it's not a command for fear I shall not obey. Instead, I begin to wriggle my way down, breaking his hold on me for but a few moments as I lay down.
"I will."
And like that, I'm gathered against him. He arms around me, cradling me against his chest as though I'm one the one needing protecting. Which is amusing. But I'll let it be, for now. The soft scent of roses surrounds me, underlined by Treize's own scent. Like no other. It's this that I pull myself close to, wrapping my arms around him and nuzzling.
I barely hear his thanks and sweet dragon. He always calls me dragon. With others, it's term of respect. His, I fear and am secretly starting to enjoy, is a term of endearment.
So I begin to hum again, fingers stroking the hair along the nape of his neck, tracing the outer shell of his ear. He sighs softly, but his grip on me never loosens - even as he falls asleep.
And not long thereafter, I follow.

Notes: The english lyrics are apparently a chinese lullaby. I spent an hour searching for something that would suit. -- Also, these boys are AU. I don't own anyone in Gundam Wing. And this is just some fluff pulled out of some RP, enjoy.
