Hey everyone! Chaos-chan here with my first song-fic! I just had the urge to write a song-fic for some reason... hmm... Anywho, here you go! Oh, and the song is "Imaginary" by Evanescence! Umm... song lyrics are in italics.
I linger in the doorway
Of alarm clocks screaming
Monsters calling my name
She ran. It was a cold, black night, but still, she ran. What did she run from? She ran from her past of anguish, her present of pain, and her future of loneliness. She had nothing...
Let me stay
Where the wind will whisper to me
Where the raindrops
As they're falling tell a story
She came to a bridge above murky, pure black water. It was calling her name, bidding her to come, willing her to jump. She leaned over the rail, a cascade of jet- black hair flowing over her shoulder.
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
She leaned farther, staring into the hypnotizing swirls of black water below her. It scared her, yet at the same time, comforted her and beckoned her into the icy folds of its blanket. Fearing no more, she let go, falling into the shockingly cold water below.
Don't say I'm out of touch
With this rampant chaos – your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape
She hit the water, but all she felt was the warm touch of darkness calling out her name... or someone was calling out to her. Her mind seemed to dance across the soft grass of freedom.
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
She woke, many hours later, but was not where she expected to be. Instead, she was in a soft, warm bed, covered in comforting blankets of deep purple. Someone cared for her, and as she drifted to sleep, she smiled. But the smile lasted not long, for the nightmares of reality hit her...
Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
As she slept, a shadowed figure came in to watch over her. He sat in a chair in the corner of the room, listening to the terrified voice that screamed out to no one and everyone at the same time...
Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming
The goddess of imaginary light
She woke only once more, to find the young man watching over her. He spoke her name, called out to her, and she knew it was he who had called to her when darkness accepted. It was his voice that had saved her where no others could...
'Tomoyo...'
So, what did you think? Short, I know, but I'm going for quality not quantity! Well, got to be moving on to my next story, so... SAYONARA!!! Oh, and please... reviews?
