Gray
He follows his lover down the dark steps and into the pagoda that protrudes onto the lake. They sit around the marble table set in the middle of the pavilion and stare into the gray waters beside them. Gray clouds hang overcast in the sky, and both know that everything that will determine their world is being decided at the very moment.
"Even the weather knows," Draco remarks softly, breaking his gaze from the small but violent waves to look at his companion. Blaise turns to Draco, tilting his head in an inquisitive manner.
"Who do you think will win?" he asks quietly.
"I don't think the Dark Lord will. He may be stronger and contain more knowledge, but they are evenly matched in power, and Potter has more support. Their side also holds desperation, and men in despair are willing to do anything."
"Your father was smart," Blaise comments quietly, and Draco laughs softly.
"Smart enough to save me, but not smart enough to save him or Mother. They will not live."
"You sound so certain," Blaise remarks detachedly.
"What they do matters no more to me. I have greater worries at hand."
"Oh?"
"What will happen after the war. And you."
