A/N: Yeah, I'm back with these two. You know its true. Please review and thanks to those who did before, especially whoever said they thought there could be more to them than shown. The quote? I think it fits this characterisation of them quite well.

And I was wondering if you could do something for me. In your opinion, when you read this, which one of them says "I guess not"? Just wondered. Different viewpoints and all that. Thank you very much.

All the World's a Stage...

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They all have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.
-As You Like It, William Shakespeare

Ed was waiting when Tom left the hospital.

"I heard what you said."

"Oh, and what was that?" Tom asked, not stopping to turn around.

"To Zubin."

A smile crossed Campbell-Gore's face. "Good, wasn't it?" he said. "I've wanted to say that for quite some time." He carried on walking. Ed slipped into time behind him.

"What now?"

"Well, that's a difficult one. Abroad, perhaps? Spend a little time together?"

Ed shrugged. "Maybe," he replied.

"In any case, that's not important now. You did a good job in there."

"Thank you."

"The punch was impressive. Looked very real, I'm sure."

Ed smiled. "I thought a bit of drama was called for."

"And I did enjoy 'see you down the job centre'. That was a very nice touch."

"I thought so. After all, I did learn from the best."

"But of course."

They walked in silence for a while, Ed still pacing behind Tom, his hands in his pockets.

"Chrissie acted as expected," Tom observed.

"Yeah..."

Tom turned around. "Try not to miss her, Ed. I know it's hard, but, well, it is just us now. And it'll be easier away from here."

"I know," Ed agreed. "No more secret 'meetings'."

"I thought you enjoyed that?"

"Oh, I did. But it'll be nice to be alone."

Tom sighed. "Oh, it will."

They reached the car and Ed walked around to his side as Tom unlocked the door. They looked back.

"Well, they certainly won't forget us, will they?"

"I guess not."

Tom opened his door. "Well," he said with a smirk, "I suppose you'd better get in then."

Ed looked up and smiled back. "Oh, I don't see why not."

They climbed in the car and closed the doors behind them. Ed fastened his seatbelt and Tom started the engine. He reversed out of his parking space and turned quickly before speeding out of the car park and away from Holby City Hospital.

"Ed?"

"Yes, Tom?"

"Where's your bag and all the things from your locker?"

"Oh, I put it all in the boot while I was waiting for you."

They reached a roundabout and took the turning heading away from the city.

"Did you lock it?"

Ed sighed. "Yes, Tom."
