"Hurry! Jump into the portal," exclaimed a man.
A man and his wife run towards a portal. They were being chased by demons. The man's wife was pregnant. She was going to have a baby in a few months. The husband and wife were running hand in hand hoping to get through the portal. They were half way there. The man is a fire demon and the wife is an ice demon. In the man's hand there was a staff. It wasn't just any old staff though; it had multi colored gems on it. They were almost there when the woman trips and falls. The demons were coming towards them fast. They both knew what those demons wanted. The Jeweled Staff. The man helps her up and they both jump into the portal just in time.
In October a baby girl was born... This is where the story begins
Valerie was sitting on the couch watching T.V. She looks out the window and sees rain hitting the glass. She let out a sigh as she remembers how her parents died.
FLASHBACK
It was a Saturday and her parents left to go on a road trip 3 days ago. It was dark and storming that night. Valerie was sitting on the couch watching T.V. When the doorbell rang. "Who could it be at a time like this?" Valerie asked herself.
The doorbell rang again. "I'm cumin' gez!" Valerie yelled.
Valerie answered the door and there stood a police officer standing at the door. Valerie looks at him and asked, "Yes, may I help you?"
The police officer looked at Valerie in the eye and asked, "Are you ValerieYama?"
Valerie look at the police officer in confusion and asked, "Yes, why?"
"I'm very sorry to tell you this but your parents died in a tragic car accident. They were caring this, I thought that they might wanted you to have it." The police officer handed Valerie a golden staff with a variety of different colored gems. "Than you." Valerie said to him before closing the door.
Valerie headed towards her bed and sat down. Valerie looked at the staff and tried to figure out why her parents had the staff and didn't tell her about it. She decided to figure it out later and put the staff in her closet. She turned off the light and went to bed.
