The pain in his eyes crushed me, I wanted to say everything yet, i couldn't say anything. No words expressed the guilt I felt, the sorrow that streamed through my body and the anger that rushed in my veins. My neck was wet and cold from the tears that rolled down my cheek and were absorbed by my shirt. The salty water seemed to sink into my chest and my heart began to collapse under my very own being. I had risked Haley and I's life so I could get here and tell him he meant the world to me but, as I stood at the foot of his bed, I looked at his eyes, and I knew I didn't have to say anything. Our mouths never moved but, we spoke. We poured our hearts out to each other, we laughed and we cried together. Using every last muscle in my body, I moved my hand to touch his. His hands were cold, and he seemed to be numb to the pain. No regrets, I whispered and he shook his head in response. The monitor's beeping became faster and more rapid. I pulled my hand in towards me until the beeping became a long, continuous ringing in my ears. And it was over, all the pain, all the joy, all the worries, he was gone but, I knew he wasn't alone. I looked to the far corner of the room where the rocking chair was swaying back and forth and I knew, Camilla had called him home.
