Disclaimer: I may sit here at my computer desk and deny, deny, deny that I
wrote Harry Potter, but I just say that because, out of the goodness of my
heart, I gave all writes to Joanne.
Really Quick A/N: I revised this chapter just a little, you know made it
prettier, you probably can't even tell that I changed it.
Chapter 7: The Date
They walked to Hogsmead talking about obscure things like the weather and classes.
*~*~*~*~*~Lily's POV~*~*~*~*~*
I can't believe how hard it is to talk to Potter when we aren't yelling at one another.
*~*~*~*~*~Neutral POV~*~*~*~*~*
When the group got to Hogsmead they all went their separate ways, deciding to meet up at lunch at the three broomsticks.
~*~*~*~*~*Lily and James~*~*~*~* ~*
"So," James said, "Where do you want to go?"
"I don't know," Lily said, "Huneydukes?"
"Mmm, candy. Sounds great."
They went into Huneydukes and were greeted by a few flirty fifth year Ravenclaw girls.
"Back off!" Lily yelled. She may not like James that much, but it was rude of them to make a move on him while they were clearly on a date.
The girls left in a huff.
"Evans, you must really like me. I have never seen you get mad at girls for making a move on me before."
"No," Lily said, "It's just we are clearly on a date and it was rude of those hussies to flirt with you in front of me. I mean they could have at least waited until my back was turned."
"Oh. So you don't like me?" He looked disappointed.
"If I didn't like you a little bit, would I be here at all?"
"Probably not."
"Only stupid people ask stupid questions, so I suggest you don't ask stupid questions."
They left Honeydukes and, at James' suggestion, went to Zonko's. The store keeper nearly went ballistic when he saw James.
"My biggest customer!" He said. "Aren't you dead?"
"It," James said, "Is kind of hard to explain."
"Well, so great to have you back. What would you like? Anything. It's on me."
"Thank you sir. But right now I'm just looking around. I really shouldn't get anything that last prank nearly got me banned from Hogsmead."
"I understand, well have fun."
"Hey James," Lily said, when the owner turned away, "Didn't you have detention?"
"Yes."
"What do you have to do?"
"Help Remus every full moon. You know, with his transformation."
"Oh," Lily said.
They walked around looking in store windows.
~*~*~*~*~*Harry and Ginny~*~*~*~*~*
Harry and Ginny walked around Hogsmead before walking into Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle.
"Well, well, well," Malfoy sneered, "If it isn't Pothead and Weaslette."
"Shove off. Ferritface," Ginny said, attempting to push past him.
"Manners," Malfoy said grabbing her arm.
"Let me go," Ginny said through clenched teeth.
"Give me a kiss," Malfoy said.
"I said," Ginny said swinging her arm up and punching him in his eye, "Let me go."
Harry looked dumbstruck at his usually-violent-only-on-the-quidditch-field- or-towards-her-brother-girlfriend.
"Let's go Harry," Ginny said, then to Malfoy, "Stupid git, my hand hurts and it is probably going to be bruised now."
They walked past them and made their way to The Three Broomsticks to wait for everybody else.
~*~*~*~*~*Ron and Hermione ~*~*~*~*~*
"Try this," Hermione said trying to shove some chocolate mouse in Ron's mouth.
"Hermione, NO! I don't like mou-mffmh. Belch!"
"Good boy. See it wasn't so bad, was it?"
"Yes!" Ron said stoutly.
"You are such a whiner."
"I am a whiner that knows what he likes."
"Oh, and what would that be?"
"You," Ron said pulling Hermione into a kiss.
~*~*~*~*~*Sirius and Lavender *~*~*~*~*~
"You are such a good kisser," Lavender said.
"Not so bad yourself," Sirius said.
"Oh my gosh!" Lavender said.
"What?"
"We have like five minutes to get to The Three Broomsticks."
"Come on," Sirius said grabbing her by the arm.
~*~*~*~*~*The Three Broomsticks *~*~*~*~*~
"Hey guys," Lily said as Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione walked into The Three Broomsticks. "Where is Sirius and Lav?"
"Here we are," Sirius coming through the doors of The Three Broomsticks.
"You guys hungry?" James asked.
"Starving," Sirius, Ron, and Harry said in unison.
They sat down at the biggest booth much to the disappointment of the boys who suggested that they sit at a table for four so that the girls could sit on their laps.
"So," Harry said, "What do you want to do after lunch?"
"Let's go down to the Shrieking Shack," James said.
"We can't do that," Ginny said. "It's haunted."
"She doesn't know?" Ron asked.
"What's to know?" Lily said, "The Shrieking Shack is haunted."
"Yeah," Lavender said, "I don't even like the Hogwarts ghosts'"
"Well then," Sirius said, "Let's go down to the Shack and if you get scared you can jump on me."
They paid the bill and walked out of The Three Broomsticks.
"Are they kidding?" Ron asked. "Do they really not know that The Shrieking Shack is not haunted?"
"Either that or they are really good actresses," Harry said.
When they got to The Shrieking Shack all of the girls were clinging to their dates' arms.
All the girls except Hermione.
"Hermione," Lavender said, "I don't understand how you are not scared to death."
"Oh, well The Shrieking Shack isn't-"
Ron clapped his hand over Hermione's mouth.
"Let's go in, shall we?" Sirius said.
They walked into The Shrieking Shack.
"Why don't we split up?" James suggested.
"Good idea," Harry, Ron and Sirius said.
"We will go upstairs," Sirius said grabbing Lavender's hand and running up the stairs.
"We will go look around the kitchen," James said.
"We can go look in-" Ron started.
"Oh just go snog," Ginny said.
Ron and Hermione left blushing.
"Hey," Harry said, "I have an idea."
"Oh, really?" Ginny said. "And what would that be?"
"Let's go lock my parents in the kitchen."
"Why would we do that?"
Harry shrugged. "I don't know. It just sounds like it would be fun. Seeing as how she's scarred of the ghosts and all."
"You aren't scared of the ghosts? They terrify me."
"They don't exist."
"Of course they do. How else would you explain all the sounds-?"
"There haven't been any sounds since Remus left Hog-"
"You mean Remus made all those noises?"
"When he transformed."
"Wow," Ginny said, "I never would've guessed."
"That's what Dumbledore was counting on. So do you want to?"
"Want to what?"
Harry gave her an exasperated sigh. "Lock my parents in the kitchen."
"Oh, that."
"Yes, that."
"Sure."
"Cool. Let's go."
They walked to the kitchen door where they heard Lily and James talking.
"This is so scary," they heard Lily say.
"Ah, come on. It's not that bad is it?"
"It's more than bad, it's terrifying."
"I'll protect you."
SLAM!!
"What was that?"
They heard laughing outside the door. James walked over to it and put his ear up to the door.
"I think our son and his girlfriend just locked us in the kitchen."
"Great." Lily was scarred. She walked over to the door and screamed "HARRY JAMES POTTER! LET US OUT RIGHT NOW!!"
"What are you going to do if I don't?" Harry replied.
"I'M STILL YOUR MOTHER; DON'T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!"
"Fine. What are you going to do if I don't let you out of there, ma'am?"
"I'LL-I'LL GROUND YOU!!"
This received a snort from James and fresh grails of laughter from Harry and Ginny.
"How long are you going to leave us in here?" James asked.
"Twenty minutes," Ginny said. "Any more complaining and it will be longer."
"What about the ghosts?" Lily asked.
"You probably scarred them off with all that yelling."
"Humph," was all Lily said.
They heard Harry and Ginny walking off talking.
"You planned this didn't you?" Lily asked James.
"No."
"Really?"
"Honestly," James said. "Do you really think that I would plan to be locked in a haunted house for half and hour? I'm weird, not mental."
"James, can I ask you a question?"
"You just did."
"You know what I mean."
"Sure."
"Why do you like me?"
"What do you mean?"
"What do you mean what do I mean? Why do like me?"
"I don't know, I think that it has something that you are so different from me, but we are so much the same. You know?"
"Not really, but, whatever."
"Lily, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Why don't you like me?"
"James, I do like you."
"No you don't."
"It's just I have never not known what to do before. Never, in my life. Ya' know?"
"Yeah."
"But when I get around you I am completely lost and can't remember how to breathe and... and I don't know what to do. James, why are you doing this to me?"
"Doing what?"
"Making me fall in love with you?"
She started crying.
James walked over to her and pulled her into a giant hug. "Lily?" he whispered.
"What?"
"I love you too."

A/N: Ahh, the end of another chapter. I bet ya'll all thought that I fell off the planet. But no, just got lazy. So I think this one is the longest I've written it's also the fluffiest (the Ron and Hermione part.) The Harry and Ginny part where Ginny punched Malfoy was just for fun no real relevance to the story. Review. I need more ideas for the next chapter.
