Chapter 3: Secrets must remain secrets

"You want to tell me about it?" Chris asked.

Jackie got up, "Just the usual, our future never changing. Hey Chris do they know? You know that your...."

"Piper's son, yes they know. Look I'm going to go check on everyone" Chris stoop up and began walking toward the kitchen.

Jackie grabbed his hand and turned him to face her, "What's wrong?"

Chris tried to avoid Jackie's eyes but couldn't, "No matter what happens she still died. I have to live with knowing that. I have to go back to a future without her. I can't go through that again Jackie, I can't go back to a future without her. I thought it would be easy, she was gone and I was over it. Yeah right I came back and the moment I saw her, my heart sank and all I could think about was how could I lose her again I just.... I just...."

Jackie used her thumb to wipe away his tears, "I know how you feel. I was there, remember. It's going to be all right, for all you know you could have changed your future. Maybe she is alive and well. You never know, all you can do is value the relationship you have with her now. Spend time with her, be her son, the son she needs, the one she died to protect."

"Chris, can you come here for a second?" Piper yelled from upstairs.

Chris turned and left to walk toward the kitchen, "You called."

"How is everything going, is she ok? Are you ok?" Piper asked.

Chris took a seat and began to cry. He couldn't take it anymore. The brave façade he tried to perfect crumbled before the very eyes of the one he couldn't bear to see in anymore pain, but he didn't know what else to do. So much was going on and he couldn't even control any of it anymore. Piper walked up to him and put her arms around him.

Jackie heard Chris crying and knew why. How could she not, she had been friends with him since they were kids. She remembered the countless fun and tricks they used to play. She also remembered all the pain he went through when she died, Wyatt became evil, Leo left and so did she. She would do anything to take his pain away. She didn't know what was worse at this time, hearing Chris cry or not being able to tell him the truth, a truth he deserves to know, but could hurt him even more.

Jackie walked up the stairs to check out the rest of the house. She finally found herself in the attic alone with the book. She walked up to the book and opened it just to skim through it. She didn't know what to do. Secrets must remain secrets right. Wrong? Secrets are meant to be shared and she had to share this one. It was wrong of her to keep it from Chris. After all, it's not everyday you find out more then you bargained for; there are many secrets he needs to know about his family, us, the future.

As Jackie turned to leave a bright light appeared and right in front of her, "You tell him and all is ruined. He can't know, if he does he will leave."

"You need to have more faith in him. He will stay, to save Wyatt." Jackie said.

"How do you know? "the figure replied.

Jackie walked right up to her; "Because if he loves his brother, and if doesn't stop Wyatt from becoming evil the odds are the future will still be horrible, and trust me he won't want that to happen. Don't you have any faith in you nephew?'

"Plenty, the question is do you know him that well?"

Jackie replied, "No offense but I think I know him a little better then you do. I don't mean that to sound mean or anything, but I grew up with him, you didn't, he shared all his secrets with me and vice versa."

"Yes you did, and it's ok just please don't let him leave. I can't stand to see my family go through hell again. So tell him if you think it will do him some good. I trust your instincts."

Jackie calmed, "I know and I do believe this is the right thing. I believe it will help him. He will want to go home, but I won't let him and...."

Right as Jackie was about to finish her sentence another person showed up, "I can't let you tell him. You'll ruin everything. He can never know the truth..."

Jackie looked right at her best friend, but didn't see the fireball in time, now Jackie could heal others, but being able to heal herself was another thing. What was real odd was how she got the power to posses a fireball last she checked all she could do was levitate and get premonitions. The fireball hit her like a hurricane. She didn't have time to think before she was thrown across the room and thrown out the window, and that was when what really shocked her happened. Her supposed best friend sprayed her with some forgetful dust. Jackie knew what she was trying to do and wouldn't let it happen. She couldn't forget and she wouldn't. She hit the ground like truck hitting a car. All the sudden her world became black and the last thing she remembered was a dark lighter shooting her with an arrow.

As the blackness over took her she knew something her friend didn't that she would live, she had to if not then how could she be the mother of the next charmed generation like she saw in her future in the dreamscape.
