CHAPTER 8 – One Way Ticket
"Baka wa shinanakya naortanai." (Once a fool, always a fool.)
Vegeta was startled to hear his native tongue but then growled, "Do itta, Akuma!" (Out of the way, Demon!)
"Kono-yaro gaki!" (Screw you, shorty.)
"Nameru ja nai, onna!" (Don't mess with me, woman.)
"Shinjimae, Saiya-jin no ouji" (Go to HFIL, Saiyan Prince.) Sen launched herself at Vegeta aiming a punch at his face only to have him catch it before reaching its destination. He pulled her in, nose to nose.
"Yaru Ka, Tsufuru gomi?" (Want a piece of me, Tsufuru trash?)
"Hai!" (Yes!) As Sen spoke, she kneed him. Vegeta only smirked at her. Then droppingshe dropped down on her back, she and kicked him off, sending the unsuspecting Prince over her head. He did a one handed back flip and landed on his feet not far from where Sen stood up. She hadturned to face her opponent and immediately put up her arms in afast enough to dodge the Vegeta's fist then cross block.
Vegeta was pummeling her with punches. He wanted Sen down and out fast. There was no time for fooling around. The weakling was no match and the Prince could easily end her life. After all, Sen started it. Nobody would hold her extermination against him. 'An amusing creature, though.' He knocked her acrossed the courtyard with a spin kick. Vegeta watched with his hands resting on his hips. She stood up and wiped the blood from her mouth.
Calling to Sen, Vegeta walked towards her, "Onna, this is not the time." fists coming at her.
Ignoring the Prince, she floated upwards. Vegeta remained where he was, his eyes never leaving his opponent. "Baba! I suggest you find cover."
Baba was back on her ball and floating next to the hour glass. She was watching the sand emptying into the lower half. Only a couple handfuls remained. "Goku's time has run out. I must leave to get him anyway."
"Take me with you...I will take his place."
"Oh, no you don't!" Sen released a small ki beam.
Vegeta was about to laugh at such a lame attack but then realized the shot was not directed towards him. He lunged at Baba, blocking the beam from its target then stopped the old woman's retreat by grabbing her ball. The old woman almost slid off by the jolt. She fell on her stomach and clung to the ball.
"You will take me Baba, or would you prefer our friend stop you from bringing Kakarot back."
"But I...I can't Vegeta, King Yama has to release you from the Afterworld."
"Then go to him NOW!" Vegeta whipped her and the ball around and sent them speeding toward Yama's palace. Baba hung on for dear life, praying she would make it inside before getting killed. The Prince raced up to Sen before she could send another attack.
"I have no desire to abolish you to oblivion, Sen. But if you continue this feeble attempt to stop me, you will leave me with no choice." Vegeta could never admit to his commitment but the Prince resigned himself to preserving what was left of the Saiyan race. Though Sen disregarded her heritage, he could tell her Saiyan heart relished it.
"You are not worthy of such a gift, Prince. I will stop you and I will finally find peace, knowing the once mighty and terrible race will be forever gone."
"You are so wrong, onna. Saiyans will live on in our sons."
"Are you sure? I see only Earthlings. Like me, they have chosen a nobler conviction. Face it, Prince Vegeta; you are the last true Saiyan."
"All the more reason for me to remain." Raising his hand he shot a ball of ki which hit Sen in the stomach.
Oddly, Sen didn't resist the attack. Her limbs went limp and her head went back with her pupils rolling up into her head. The warrior's body trembled briefly then her head snapped forward. She smiled at Vegeta, opened her mouth and out shot a ki blast back at him.
Vegeta stood defiant and readied himself to catch the blast. But he miss judged its power and it pushed him over 100 meters before he was able to deflect off of it. The beam headed off to the Heavens, exploding after reaching some unseen barrier.
Sen was drained by the effort but with her self assurance renewed, she felt victory dangling in front of her. Compatible with the Prince's energy, Sen was ready to use it against him. Now all she had to do was to get Vegeta to use it on her. "Go ahead Vegeta, make my day!" she chuckled to herself as she flew over to engage the enemy.
Noting his current surroundings, Vegeta hovered several meters over the yellow clouds with Snake Way to his right. At least they were no longer above Yama's place. Any more damage initiated by Vegeta would not help his cause. He could shoot the onna into HFIL but sooner or later he would end up in the same place. The thought of her continued torments made him cringe.
Standing ready to attack, Sen waited for Vegeta's next move.
"End this futile fight while you still exist, onna."
"It ends when you parish Saiyan!"
"AHA!" The angry Prince sent a ki wave which pushed Sen several meters backwards but she was able to absorb most of the impact. "Wake-up, Sen! Your grudge belongs in the past."
Sen took a deep breath and looked at Vegeta through a furrowed brow. "Ha- ha, if I didn't know better I would think the Prince of Saiyans was trying to talk his way out of a fight." Confused, Sen stared at the spot were Vegeta once was. He reappeared above her his hands clasped together above his head.
"Sayonara, Sen." Vegeta slammed his joint fists down on the surprised warrior; sending her to HFIL.
Sen let out the borrowed ki wave right before she went below the yellow cloud cover; stopping her descent. The ki expelled had a rippling effect on the clouds sending circular waves in all directions. She placed her two fingers to her forehead and vanished. Instantly she appeared above Vegeta.
"You won't find me as easy to exterminate as you did my people."
"As a matter of fact, I find myself with reservations."
"Feeling guilty? Are you accepting judgment?"
"I accept accountability for my people and with it my responsibility to them... (He floated up to meet Sen.) Sen, as much as you can deny you are Saiyan, I find that I cannot. Why do you place your loyalties with the Tsufuru?"
"I find no honor with Saiyans. Before the revolt, my father was murdered and his work destroyed because of me. To save face, my mother led the attack. Her hesitation before killing me allowed my escape. Her indecision cost her her life...compliments of your father. So you see, no Saiyan deserves my allegiance, least of all you."
"Pity. I'm not my father and have no plans to repeat his mistakes. Do you not see, onna, I have not and will not allow Earth to suffer the same fate as our planet. My responsibility for you is of little importance now. You have kept me long enough. I will ask you once more to abandon your quest."
"How absurd, to consider walking away after a lifetime of pain? What do you take me for?"
"Spoken like a true Saiyan," as he spoke, Vegeta floated backwards increasing the space between them. "So be it, Sen. I will see you in HFIL." He raised both hands in front of him. With palms out he gathered his energy.
This was what Sen waited for. She took a fighting stance and prepared herself to fend off the attack.
"Hahaha...Baka! You cannot counter this! Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh" Vegeta shot two ki beams aimed at Sen. The force of the blasts pushed him back but he remained steady.
To Vegeta's surprise, Sen straightened her stance. With arms wide opened, she took both blasts square in the chest. Her body shook as her head flew back. Sen's body began to drift down. Folding his arms, Vegeta watched her fall with a frown on his face. "Too easy." He began his own descent pursuing the warrior to HFIL but she never made it.
Sen landed facedown onto Snake Way and Vegeta followed, stepping lightly onto the stone path. He walked over and flipped Sen over with his foot. She remained motionless, her eyes were open but there were no pupils. Her eerie whites disturbed the Prince. He squatted, checked for a pulse on her neck but found none. Vegeta sighed. "Such a waste." He brushed his gloved hand over her eyes to close them but caught his breath when he found Sen staring at him.
Sen reached up to Vegeta's chest. Instantly ki flared around her hand. She released the blast sending Vegeta over the edge of Snake Way. He caught himself before touching the clouds. Sen used her instant transmission to get above him. So close, she was able to whisper in his ear before releasing the second blast that would send him to HFIL "Sayonara, Saiya-jin no ouji."
Everything was a blur and then Vegeta could see the desert like ground racing up to meet him. He reached ahead of him and used his ki to stop himself from hitting dirt. Sand and dust flew everywhere. The Prince twisted himself around and took off back up to the yellow clouds above. He stopped short of the cloud cover, screaming with rage, and sent a huge ki blast at where he thought he had entered. The loud explosion vibrated through the clouds sending rifts racing away from the impact, but no exit appeared.
Above, Sen hung in the air, barely able to keep floating. She struggled to breath. Suddenly there was an explosion below, causing the clouds to glow and send ripples across the cloud floor. Satisfied, she smiled and made her way back to Snake Way and dropped to the path on her hands and knees.
"I feel...fried...my insides. His energy...incredible."
Gasping for air, Sen stared at her sweat dripping onto the stone. Faint and nauseated, the warrior could barely hold herself up. Then she thought she heard footsteps. Someone was running towards her and she looked up to see who it was before collapsing.
"Baka wa shinanakya naortanai." (Once a fool, always a fool.)
Vegeta was startled to hear his native tongue but then growled, "Do itta, Akuma!" (Out of the way, Demon!)
