"Only the dead have seen the end of war." – Plato
Summary: 100 word drabble by Elrond on Gil-galad's death.
Never again must he fight, must he worry about his people. None have taken up his crown, for no one could possibly fill his place. He was the longest reigning King. Some would count that a blessing upon the Eldar.
I would not.
Most did not know how he despised ruling altogether, the pressure upon his shoulders. He hated battle, how it wearied him. Not that he was a bad King. He was right for his position, no matter how he may have hated it. He ruled with objectivity. That is why he was such a good King, and friend.
Bloog.
