CHAPTER 19 – To Tough to Handle?

With Sen's strength renewed and improved, she was anxious to push her limits. The warrior wanted to train in the worse way. She watched the side entrance to the palace for Baba's return. Sighing, she looked around to see if there was something she could do. Part of Snake Way was nearby. It was clear of souls and very visible from where she stood. Baba would have no trouble finding her.

Rising slowly in the air, Sen cleared the palace rooftop. She closed her eyes and searched for her ki, harnessing its power. Flash, she raced to her destination. Before she knew it, she screeched to a halt on Snake Way. Looking back, she thought she saw traces of her energy trail. Standing up, she murmured, "amazing."

The warrior began punching and kicking drills, centering her ki with each move. The power exerted caused her to rise above the stone path. Stopping, she stared at her hands, flexing them, admiring her new strength. The warrior picked out a point on Snake Way and raced to it, meeting it with her hands and springing off to do back flips down the path. She ended, doing a quadruple somersault into the air and landing in a ready fighting stance. Sen straightened and brushed her hands together. "Hmm."

Once again Sen was astonished by how far she had gone. The palace was barely visible. She had decided to make her way back on foot and leaped forward. After taking only 2 steps, the warrior stopped cold. She felt something coming and then it mentally hit her. It was trace of a ki surge coming from the Living World. It was a horrible, sickening feeling. Despair played with the warrior's emotions. "Gods, what now?" Closing her eyes, she focused on it as she tried to determined who was its awesome owner. Then her eyes shot open and she gasped, "Majin Buu!" Again, Sen leaped, running as fast as she could back to the palace.

In no time, Sen was back to where she first touched down on Snake Way and jumped into the air to fly back to the platform. She called as she ran towards the palace side entrance, "Baba!" She didn't stop until she was at the foot of King Yama's desk. The warrior jumped to the top, suddenly jerking to the side, narrowly being smashed by the phone receiver Yama had slammed down.

Fortune Teller Baba had his attention who was hovering to the right. Sen frantically waved to Baba and then both the King and old woman looked at her a little surprised.

"What is it, Sen? It looks like you've seen a ghost." King Yama tried to keep from smiling at the snickering subordinates. "I've just spoke with Grand Kia. Your transport should be here anytime. You should be outside. You mustn't keep the Grand Kia waiting."

"Didn't anyone feel it? It was horrific! Are all of you ki blind?"

Baba eyes narrowed. "Sen, I think I can speak for everyone here and answer 'no' to the first question and 'yes' to the second."

"Well brace yourself, because Majin Buu just got stronger, incredibly stronger. In other words, 'Oh, my Gods! We are all going to die!' stronger."

Concerned, King Yama spoke softly. "Huh? Don't forget you are already dead, Sen."

"What?!" Sen shook her head in disbelief. "Don't you get it? Baba you are right. This thing is evil with a capital E. You have got to show me what's going on."

"Hahaha. Why watch that piddley crystal ball, when you have pay per view!" King Yama swung around and waved his hand over to the right. In the corner was a really big screen monitor. Sen then noticed grunts in repair uniforms on a ladder working with wires dropped from the ceiling. "What say you boys, how soon before the first showing?"

"Should have it up and running by next shift, sir."

Sen was really getting upset by the way everyone was being so nonchalant with her news. "Grrrrr! There's no time! Please Baba, can I see for myself? Like now?"

Yama just shook his head. "You are right about one thing, there is no time here…"

Sen's desperation and urgency finally registered with Baba and she interrupted the big ogre. "Pardon, your lordship but may I grant Sen's small request?"

The King shrugged then motioned to the center of the plotter on his desk. The old woman floated over and set down. She hopped off her ball and cracked her knuckles. Then she began to wave her hands around the crystal ball. "Crystal ball show us all, I am Baba, hear me speak, the Evil Majin Buu we seek. Whhhyyydeeekkeeeboooo…" Sen stepped down onto the desk and walked over to the old woman.

King Yama winked at Sen then jest to Baba. "Isn't all that chanting just for show, Baba?" Baba only glared but continued with her ritual. The ball's center glare seemed to swirl and slowly images appeared. "What the? It's the Guardian's Lookout. Where's Majin, oh, no! He's there, on the Lookout!"

Yama leaned forward, trying to get a glimpse over Baba's shoulder. Sen squatted in front of the ball, as well, to get a closer look. "You sure that's him? He looks taller and thinner than before."

The now slim, muscular, pink monster was standing near the edge of the Lookout and speaking to a nervous looking Piccolo. "Do it now, produce." Majin Buu tilted his head, cracking his neck while he waited for a response. "Last time, produce."

"Please just one more day. He'll be at his best tomorrow, I promise…Think about it. This might be the only chance you have to test your strength. There's still plenty of people on Earth you can kill for your amusement while you are waiting for this fight."

"Huh?! What a thing to say," mumbled Baba as she nervously clasped her hands together. Even Sen was shocked by Piccolo's offer. They heard Dende objecting in the background.

Piccolo gritted his teeth. He didn't like what he was doing, but there was no choice. He had to buy time. The dragon balls would bring those killed back. He yelled, "be quiet Dende!" never taking his eyes off the creature. Majin Buu smirked and turned away from the dumbfounded Piccolo to walk the perimeter of the Lookout. As he did so, Majin Buu tentatively looked over the edge.

"What the HFIL is he doing?" Sen's senses told her something bad was about to happen. Her eyes narrowed as she surmised what the monster was up to. "Grrrr. He's accessing Earth's population." Suddenly, someone was running towards Buu holding a broom over their head. "Huh? Who's the brave warrior?" Majin Buu stopped and casually waited for the attacker.

Baba gasped, "Dende! It's ChiChi, Goku's wife!"

Before ChiChi could reach Majin Buu, Piccolo shot a ki beam at the broom causing it to split in two. The stricken woman fell to her knees crying. Her father, the Ox King ran over to pick her up.

Majin Buu resumed his search. When he came back to the spot he had started, he turned to Piccolo and walked up to the shaking Namek. "Time to kill." Piccolo waited for the blow, but it never came. Instead, the monster smiled at him and extended his open hand to the sky. Suddenly, he shot a continuous massive energy beam into the sky which separated into individual blasts. Billions of them showered down towards Earth finding and killing all life.

Instantly, countless souls appeared in front of King Yama's palace. As Majin Buu continued the onslaught, Snake Way filled with the cloud puffs. Subordinates ran to the front entrance shouting, attempting to control the hysterical spirits.

Sen's face went white. She stood up and stumbled off left of the plotter. It was like reliving the horror of total annihilation all over again. And this was done by one single beast. Then the warrior felt the aftershocks of the monster's ki hit her and the feeling of helplessness washed over her. Baba tried to focus on making herself useful. She thought of what she could do to help and rushed over to Sen who was stammering, "I-I can't. It's no use. It's all so- so hopeless"

The old teller reached up and grabbed Sen's hands tugging on them to get her attention. "Sen, Sen! Look at me please!" Blankly she looked down with tears in her eyes at Baba. "There is still hope, Sen. We still have the strongest warriors with us and that includes you."

"Ha! What makes you think I could possibly make a difference against that?!" She pointed at the crystal ball and the image of Majin Buu. I am nothing compared to that monster." Sen looked up to King Yama's stern face. "You've got the wrong one…I'm not your hero."

The great ogre, sat back in his chair and thought. King Yama cleared his throat and reached over to Baba's crystal ball and picked it up. He took one last look and then put it down next to Baba who climbed back on top; ending the transmission. "You two will have to get out of the way. I've got work to do. I'll see if my men below can locate Vegeta. It won't be easy. HFIL is infinite and there's been no report of his whereabouts. Reese! REESE!" Reese came running in from the front, holding his bull horn. "Reese, tell the souls to pipe down or I will throw them all in HFIL!"

"Right!" The blue ogre returned to the front, yelling into the horn as he went.

Yama swung around in his chair and chastised the cable guys. "You guys get that thing working, A-S-A-P! The Living World is in grave danger. We are going to need non-stop coverage to know if and when we can be of help." He returned his attention to Baba and Sen. "Well, what are you waiting for? Sen, get back to the platform…both of you get off my desk!"

"But…but Yama, didn't you hear what I said?"

"I heard you Sen, so you're not the best choice; you are still what we've got. Unless… (his eyes narrowed) you refuse?" Sen swallowed and shook her head. Then she rose in the air, followed by Baba on her ball, and slowly headed for the exit to the platform. Behind them King Yama was heard barking out another order, "Alright Guys! Let's go! Send in the first batch!"
