Prologue
"Here we are Mr. Potter." Harry limped into the dorm room after Professor McGonagall, the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School. "Your room mate is out at the moment, but he should be back shortly." Harry ignored her and placed his bags on the nearest desk. "Breakfast is at 7, classes start at 7:30. Lunch is at noon and dinner at 7. All classes are about an hour long, you will be following Mr. Malfoy's schedule so don't worry about that. Is there anything you need?" Harry shook his head. "Then I shall leave you to unpack. Good day Mr. Potter."
Once McGonagall was gone Harry began to unpack his clothes. The pants he folded and put in the top two drawers. He hung his shirts up in the walk in closet and his spiked apparel and make-up went on the dresser. He limped over to the bunk beds and climbed onto the top one, which was bare of anything.
He lay down and pulled the curtain closed. He took a bag out of his back pocket and put that under the mattress. He tacked a picture onto the wall and rested his head on his arm.
"Mr. Malfoy!" Draco paused and tucked his riding helmet under his arm, letting McGonagall catch up with him.
"Hello Professor!" He greeted when she came up to him.
"Hello. I wanted to inform you that your room mate is here." Draco smiled. "And that there are a few things you must know about him."
"Okay."
"First off, he doesn't speak. No he is not a mute, he just doesn't want to say anything. Second, he has to put this ointment," She handed him a blue bottle. "On his knee every night. There are two other large bottles in you drawer by you bed. You must make sure he puts it on."
"Okay." Draco agreed, his eyes questioning.
"Third. He has a scar over his right eye, and it has caused him to be blind in that eye. He hates it when people approach him from that side and he'll actually turn to watch you while you speak. He is also very skittish, and scares easily." Draco nodded. "I placed him with you because I thought you could help him, and because you are more mature than most of the students here."
"I understand, and I'll do everything I can to help him." Draco assured, pocketing the bottle. McGonagall smiled.
"Good. He will be following your schedule, but please be sure to show him around? And maybe you can take him riding?"
"Of course!" Draco paused. "Is he dangerous at all?" He asked slowly. McGonagall shook her head.
"Exactly the opposite. He'd let you beat him to a bloody pulp and wouldn't raise a hand in defense." Draco nodded. "And one more thing. If he acts suicidal in any way, tell me."
"Yes Ma'am. But..shouldn't he be in a hospital if he might be that bad?" McGonagall smiled softly.
"He fares worse in hospitals Mr. Malfoy."
"Oh."
"You run along then. Take him out to visit Magic, or something."
"Okay. Good-bye Professor!"
"Good-bye Mr. Malfoy."
