Ocarina of Time.
Prologue.
The Beginning.
Fire, massive waves of fire that engulfed all of the land. The world was at war. Each race striving for the Power of Gold, the Triforce. The Zora, an aquatic folk whose shape is fish and human. They have evolved into the ultimate amphibians, they hail from the Zora Domain, the source of Hyrules clear clean waters. They live in the rivers from the east. From the mountains to the northeast hail the Gorons, a mighty race of rock like creatures that live in Goron City, a large and primitive cave with little signs of intelligence. Their massive strength far makes up for their lack of intelligence. In the castle to the north, the race of the Hylians dwell, a race of highly intelligent and magical folk. The Hylians are not very much different from the race of men, save for the long, pointed Elvin ears they have which are said to be able to hear the voices of the gods. In the forest to the southeast, the child-like Kokiri live, oblivious to the troubles out of their world. The Kokiri are said to be born from the Great Deku Tree, the spirit of the forest. The Kokiri have never left their forest haven for they fear the monsters that may lurk in the darkness beyond, waiting to devour one of them. The final of these races are the Gerudo, a race that is dominated by women, with a sole male born every one hundred years and would be declared King of the Gerudos. The whole of the race are thieves that hail from the desert to northwest. Each of these races were at each others throats searching for the Triforce, an ancient artifact left behind by the Goddesses who created this world of Hyrule. The Triforce, a sacred and omniscient power, is said to be able to grant it's owner any wish their heart desired as well as give the power of the gods to any who would wield it. Save for the Kokiri, who would not be effected in any way by this madness. Hundreds of years passed, thousands were slaughtered in battle and thousands more were slaughtered needlessly. But when all hope of salvation passed away, a wise king from the kingdom of Hyrule Castle arose and ended the war over a course of years of diplomacy and pacifism. During these years, a young couple of a mighty warrior of the Hylian army and a wise wizardess married and gave birth to a young boy. A priest foretold that this would be a boy of great importance and was to be protected at all costs. One day, a band of Gerudo thieves ambushed this couples home and demanded their treasures and their lives. While the husband stood his ground and defended his son and wife, he ordered them to leave and ride as far from here as possible. The Gerudos outnumbered the young warrior and he was gravely wounded as he led them into the lost woods, where he passed away. The Gerudo thieves then turned on the young woman and her child and slowly closed in. The woman fought them off with her magic, but not without her toll, the Gerudos struck her down just as they did her husband. In her last efforts, she made it to the sacred forest of the Kokiri and beseeched the Great Deku Tree to take in the boy and raise him, for her time in this world was limited. The Deku Tree sensed that this was a boy of destiny and that his death would mean grave things, so to put an end to this woman's suffering, he took in the boy and buried the woman as she passed away. He raised the boy to be a Kokiri and never told him of his life as a Hylian, for he was too young, but the time for this boy to arise as what he is, is drawing near.
