A Different Little Fall of Rain
A/N: Only a few words: Grantaire made me do this for June 6... why, I don't know. I do not own Les Miserables.
"Did you see the musket that was aimed at you?"
"Yes. It was blocked by a hand."
"That was mine... but it went into my hand and out my back... There's no more hope for me now... But just sit down with me and I'll tell you how to take care of me."
He kneeled holding his brown eyed saviour close. "You will not die... you can't... how can I repay you for saving my life?"
"Well, as for payment... promise me."
"What?"
"Promise to kiss my lips when I die, and I'll feel it." Then looking into the man's eyes, "And Monsieur Enjolras, I believe I was a little in love with you."
Enjolras leaned down and kissed the corpse of the drunkard tenderly, tasting the brandy on his lips. Then he whispered. "I believe I was a little in love with you, too."
Enjolras shot up straight in his bed and screamed.
