Diary of a Lycanthrope
Star looked over the horizon at the sunset, listening to the breeze. It was far too peaceful to be true, ever since the second war had begun. As
she stared out of her window, she thought about the things that had
happened since her years at Hogwarts. Sirius had died, Lupin had been exposed as a werewolf, James and Lily had died, Peter Pettigrew, presumed
dead, was now a servant of Lord Voldemort, the Order of the Phoenix had
lost many valuable members, including the Longbottoms and Andrea Hawke. Star heard a noise and turned around abruptly. She saw nothing except for
a black book lying on the bedroom floor.
When Star dusted off the book, it read "A.T.K.H." Star remembered the time Andrea had introduced herself. "Andrea Tala Kerri Hawke. My parents landed
me with one of those long names." She remembered Andrea drawing in this
book, up in the tree by the lake. She remembered it as though it was
yesterday. Especially when Andrea had pulled her up into the tree to escape the fan girls and offered her a butterbeer. "Hi, uh, never got your name. You already know mine." Andrea had smiled and laid back, forgetting
they were in a tree, and almost fell out. Star had grabbed her arm and
helped her back up, seeing Andrea's scars. "Uh, just a few little scratches... those Slytherins are quite a pain." It had been the first time
that Andrea had to cover up her lycanthrope.
Star looked into the book and saw a picture of her done in charcoals. She
admired the work put into it and marveled at the details taken to it.
Andrea never got Star to sit still that long to do this. She would have
remembered. She flipped the page to a portrait of Remus with the words
written under it, "I've been watching you from a distance. The distance sees through your disguise. All I want from you is your hurting. I want to
heal you, I want to save you from the dark." Star thought she actually heard Andrea singing these words. "Must 'ave been a memory." "No, Star. It really is me..." Andrea stood in the doorway, looking at Star Allise with her
dark grey eyes, full of wisdom and understanding. "I am back."
