A/N: Okay, so how many times have you read a story where a teenage girl and all her friends fall into Middle-earth? I know there are tons of them out there, so you shouldn't be surprised to see another one. However, mine has a twist. What happens when this particular 14-year-old girl winds up in Middle-earth with her older brother and some of her guy friends?

Chapter One: Arrivals

It was a Wednesday night and I had just gotten out of the shower and into my PJ's when my computer started calling to me.

After writing for half an hour I shut down the computer, finished reading my old, beaten up copy of Return of the King for the forth time, and crawled into bed. Or rather, I attempted to crawl into bed. I pulled the sheets back and as I lay down, I felt myself falling.

And falling… and falling…

After what seemed like forever, I hit ground and blacked out.

I could hear voices. I knew I was lying down somewhere and I could hear people talking. My eyelids felt like they had been glued together so I tried tuning in to the conversation.

"I know how it might sound, Mithrandir, but she really did just seem to fall from the sky."

"It is a strange tale indeed, Elrohir. Nevertheless, I am most worried about her health right now. The child seems to have suffered quite a blow to the back of her head. It's a miracle she's even alive."

Mithrandir? Elrohir? Those were names out of a book…

I was finally able to unglue my eyelids enough to crack one open. What I saw thoroughly shocked me.

Standing at the end of my bed were the recognizable faces of Lord Elrond of Rivendell and Gandalf the Grey, as well as four more elves that I hadn't a clue who were.

"Where am I?" I managed to ask.

"You are in the House of Elrond. On October the 20th, if you'd like to know." Gandalf replied.

"I'm in Rivendell? Oh frick…" I muttered. This was gonna be a good one to explain to mom and dad. 'Oh yeah. Sorry I went missing for a couple of days; I was in Middle-earth.' Yeah. Right. NOT!

Okay, well, I know it was short but I'm already working on the next chapter…
