Epilogue
A city of stars twinkled in the heavens above. They were surrounded by a dark velvet cloak of a mulberry hue. In the distance stood the mountains, giants shadows in the night. Raven sat on the rooftop, gazing at the dark world around her. She too was a shadow of the night, infinitely small compared to the sky. Raven couldn't help but be in awe of her surroundings. There was beauty to such darkness, soft and comforting. The sky wrapped a blanket of galaxies around Raven; the wind sang a gentle lullaby. A new moon smiled from its kingdom in the sky.
"Raven?" Robin whispered
"Hello Robin," Raven quietly replied.
"What are you doing alone out here?"
"Just stargazing."
"May I join you?"
Raven nodded. Robin sat down and looked into darkness before him. He tried to identify the subtle shades of the night sky, but gave up when he realized there was no name for such colors. The two Titans gazed at the night sky. Each found something meaningful in it, something personal. They sat in silence, not an uncomfortable silence but one of appreciation and comprehension of the world around them.
"See that group of stars over there? That look like a cross?" Raven pointed out, breaking the silence. "That's Cygnus, the swan. It's my favorite constellation."
"It's beautiful…"
Robin looked over at Raven, who was entranced by the constellations above. She was so much more than the introverted and, at times, sarcastic person he once knew. He smiled.
"Over there, Raven, you can see Sagittarius," Robin pointed out.
Raven raised an eyebrow incredulously. Since when was Robin interested in stargazing? There was one way to know for sure.
"Can you see the Southern Crown up there?" Raven asked, almost as if in a challenge.
Robin nodded and pointed it out. "And can you see Aquarius?" he returned.
"Of course." Raven smiled. Who knew Robin was familiar with the night sky?
"And there's Delphinus," she continued.
"And there's Scorpius," Robin replied readily.
"And there's…"
I´m not
such an ugly duckling
No feathers all stubby and
brown
For
in fact these birds in so many words said
The best in town, the best,
the best
The best in town
Not a quack, not a quack, not a
waddle or a quack
But a glide and a whistle and
a snowy white back
And a head so noble and high
Say who's an ugly duckling?
Not I!
Not I!
