Chapter 1: Strange Encounter
I was just a normal 17-year-old girl. I was rich, popular, and...I guess pretty (Being modest). I was walking home from school with my two best friends. Unfortunately, my house is two blocks away from theirs. So I'm alone when I get home. I would always pass by the store to grab some munchies. But today was different. The ribbon I'd tie on my chest blew away in the strong wind. It landed in the alley behind the pawnshop. Nothing strange happened, yet. I approached my ribbon with caution. Like the fraidy cat that I am. Suddenly a black cat screeched and dashed before me.
"Doesn't that mean bad luck when a black cat runs in front of you?" I asked myself.
I began to run away when I tripped on a small ball, with the ribbon clutched in my hands.
"What the? Stupid crys...tal...what was I saying? I can't remember...this ball is to pretty! (giggles) okay...hmm"
The ball started to glow bright green. I freaked and started running in circles. Then the ball dispersed and made a wide green void under me. I started to tie my ribbon back on my chest. It was uniform to wear that thing. And I liked it. I suddenly felt the ground beneath me fade as I stood up. Then a huge gust of wind soared from the green void blowing my skirt up.
"Hey! Stupid wind! Don't show anyone my undies!"
I started to fall slowly like being gripped by quicksand.
"Hey! I'm stuck! Get me d-down? No I mean up! I knew that black cat was unlucky..."
My voice faded in the void as I said my final word "unlucky". As I fell deep into the void, it felt like I was falling in water, but I was breathing air. The green color started to fade and I ended up in the sky. But little did I know it wasn't the sky I grew up under. I fell screaming really, really loud. I was scared. Really scared. Really, really scared. Petrified. I splashed into the water, feet first. I arose from the greenish- blue waters coughing after being choked by the water. I started to swim for shore. I reached land groping the dirt as I gasped for air.
"(Gasping) Where am I? How did I get here? (Pauses) Duh Kaori! The void brought me here. I'm so stupid!"
I was lonely and scared with nowhere to go. I was also very sleepy. I walked for a few minutes and came across a cave. It looked empty from a far. What I missed was the glowing yellow eyes. I went in and sat down leaning on the cave walls. I was serene. Closing my eyes I felt a warm breeze. I went closer to the source and heard a growl that shook me up. I looked straight at the glowing eyes of the strangest looking coyote. I shrieked and ran out panting, only to find a giant plant thing with tentacles squirming all about. It swung it one if its many tentacles. But I jumped and dodged it.
"Ha!" I said proudly.
Then it swung again the same tentacle and thrashed my leg, spraining my ankle. I fell to the ground, which looked like the end of me. Then suddenly, a voice called out:
"Hold on young lady! I'm here!"
He charged for the creature as a coyote charged for him. He quickly ducked and swung his long sword cutting the coyote in half. He then lunged for the plant thing and chopped of many tentacles, finishing his blow with a quick combo.
"Hey little lady. Are you okay? My name is..."
I fainted just as he was about to announce his name. Who was he? I asked myself as my eyes closed.
(Falls) Pchrt!!
