Hey, sorry I haven't updated recently. I had to write a stinking movie for LA class, I also have to finish a project for history class and go to a hundred graduation parties and my uncle's birthday party. I'm soooo busy it's not even funny. I'd like to thank the reviewers, Ladybug, Anarra, and NG. Twinny, if you ever see Casie online, show her how to get to this site.

The airlock opened to admit the shuttlecraft. The shuttle docked and the door opened. Ambassador Tarik stepped out. Captain Picard came forward to meet the shuttle.

"Thank you for coming so quickly, Ambassador. When do you think you could perform the mind meld? Dr. Crusher has Ensign Rey back in stasis and she needs to know when to get her out of it."

"I need to meditate for two hours. I require a quiet room and the proper scented candles." The ambassador spoke as calmly as a quiet ocean breeze.

"Perhaps Ambassador Spock wouldn't mind sharing the meditation room he has made in his quarters."

"That would be adequate. I would also like a chance to speak to Spock and his students as soon as time allows."

"That can be arranged easily. If you would follow me, Ambassador." Picard picked up Ambassador Tarik's duffel bag of stuff and Tarik followed the captain to Spock's guest quarters.

Two hours later, Tarik emerged from his quarters and calmly asked the computer how to get to sickbay. He followed the computer's guidance to sickbay. He was greeted by several doctors and nurses rushing around with medical stuff. There was frenzy around Zandile's bio bed. Dr. Crusher was administering several hyposprays and monitoring the results. She noticed Tarik only when he touched her shoulder to get her attention.

"Oh!" She exclaimed at Tarik's attention getter. "Are you Ambassador Tarik?"

"Yes." "Are you ready for the mind meld? It should be performed immediately. Ensign Rey is not good. Not good at all. She is only alive because the computer is controlling her vital functions."

"Yes."

And what relation are you to Ensign Rey?"

He gave her an unreadable look. "There is doctor- patient confidentiality." Dr. Crusher said to explain.

"I am her father." He said. "I believe that would be a close enough family bond for you."

"All right. Whenever you're ready, Ambassador."

Tarik sat at a chair that had been put next to the bed and placed his fingers on the pressure points on Zandile's face.

"My mind to you're mind. My thoughts to your thoughts." That was all he had to say before he was whooshed into his daughter's mind.

Tarik was inside her mind. It was a desert as barren as the Sahara. The ground was a dry, cracked mud flat. He could see for miles in the world in her mind. Tarik had one mission, to find Zandile's consciousness and get her out of the coma.

Tarik wandered the imaginary mud flats, probing her mind with his, trying to find her lost consciousness. He got a faint signal, a cry of help from one mind to another. Tarik followed the source of the cries.

Zandile was locked in a cage. She was sitting on the dried mud, crying helplessly for release from the cage. Tarik knew these metaphors. He had to get Zandile out of the cage.

Tarik inspected the lock of the cage. It was a computerized lock with a password interface. "What is the password?" He asked Zandile, who was still crying for release.

She made no signal of understanding the question. Tarik rattled the bars. There was no response. He reached through the bars and tapped her shoulder. She stopped crying and looked up at him. "What is the password?" He asked again.

"I don't know, the Romulans locked me in here." She said in a warbling voice.

"That presents a problem." Tarik started thinking. What could the password be?

He started entering anything that he could think of into the password space of the lock. When he typed "rebels" it suddenly opened. Tarik pulled the chains out of the door and opened it.

Zandile looked up when the rusty hinged creaked and the door opened. "I'm free?" she asked in a trembling voice. She stood up and walked out of the door. A chain reaction started the instant she left the cage. The sky turned bright blue and clouds appeared. Grass sprang up from the ground. Flowers bloomed. The landscape of Zandile's mind became a beautiful plain, complete with a trickling stream and animals in the background. Just as suddenly as the mind meld had taken affect, it was broken and Tarik found himself back in his own body.

I'm finally done with this chapter! So, tell me how you liked it or didn't like it, OK? Please? I think there's only going to be one more chapter, just sos yous knows.
