Chapter One: The Arrival
Sesshomaru walks slowly and purposefully through the cloud of mist in the valley near Inuyasha's Forest. Rin skips happily behind him, humming softly to herself. Jocken sighs and ignores her.
Why were they near Inuyasha's forest you ask?
They were on a mission.
As they come out of the valley and into the early morning sun, a small village fills their vision. Kaede's village. Rin almost runs into Sesshomaru when he stops abruptly, sliver tresses flowing around him like water. His icy amber orbs are fixed on the young woman glaring suspiciously at them and standing not 10 feet away.
Kagome.
He had hoped they would go unnoticed for at least a little while before having to confront Inuyasha's pack. But alas, it was not the case. Inwardly he sighs at his apparent misfortune. Then, walking gracefully, he approaches her carefully. She is too shocked at the sight of him here that she doesn't even move. He stops when he is standing so close to her he can feel her breath. She looks up at the towering figure almost on top of her and her heart begins to race. What could he want? He surprises her by raising his hand and caressing her face softly. She lets out a startled gasp and pulls away from him, backing up several paces. She gives him a disgusted look. "What do you want?" He looks deep into her eyes and she thinks she sees many emotions swimming in their depths.
"You will die without me."
She steps back even more and her eyes widen. She then hugs herself as if trying to hold on to her life by doing so. Just then, Inuyasha steps out of Kaede's hut...
