A.N.: Just and inspiration. No shonen-ai here, though. It's all friendly interaction!!
Tseng idly ran a brush through his tangled hair, thoughtlessly, but thoroughly nonetheless. Another day, another job… or so it was among the Turks. Seeing as his job was assassination, he usually wouldn't put so much effort into his appearance, but a special day called for a change of routine. Straightening the collar of the blue suit that was usual attire for a man of his status, he didn't the noise of soft footsteps until they stopped by his door.
The door flew open with a yelled "Hey!!" that was a bit louder than his ears were ready to take. Tseng remained silent.
"It's new recruit day!!" Reno expressed "It hasn't been new recruit day in…" He paused, counting his fingers "six years!!"
"Yes, and that was you." Tseng responded, several fouler memories returning from that day.
"And it's gonna be a good one, this time!!" Reno sported a devilish grin. Tseng, unlike most, knew exactly what he meant. Once you knew Reno, his inaccurate speech wasn't all that difficult to understand.
"And how would you know?" Interrogating the other man was about as easy as eating soup with chopsticks.
"The pres says it's gonna be a man better than the shooter guy, or else it's gonna be a woman."
'The shooter guy' was an old member of the Turks. One of the best, he had unfortunately been lost to Hojo thirty years ago.
"And what if we get a completely inept woman?" Tseng asked, ominous feelings edging at the back of his mind.
"Well then it's good anyway, because I like women."
Tseng feeling was confirmed. "If you try to hit on a new recruit, Reno, I'll…"
"Okay, okay!! I won't, promise."
There was a silent moment of thought, Tseng making no comment.
"And brush your hair." The same slightly cracked brush Tseng had used earlier landed neatly in Reno's hand. Tseng strode out the door, not waiting for any response.
"Aw! But Tseng! I look really funny that way!!"
"Do it."
He walked off down the hall, punching the elevator button and fearing the worst.
A.N.: Okay, there's going to be a continuance!! (seeing as it's a bit short) "The shooter guy" is Vincent, for those who didn't figure it out.
