Mind Meld

"Honey, I'm home!" Blaise yelled as he swung around the doorpost into the kitchen. He took a quick look around the kitchen. She hadn't started dinner yet. Oh well, he was home early anyway.

Hermione was seated at the table, reading the Prophet.

"I know you are. I could hear you cracking the doorposts. It's not healthy for the house," She said, not looking up from her paper. "Have a seat." She gestured to the chair across from hers. She folded the paper carefully, smoothing the edges as she lay it down on the table.

"How was your day?" She asked.

"Wonderful. The one-hour lecture I had scheduled on the use of potions in defense against the dark arts turned into a three-hour question and answer session on the topic. It's great that people are so interested."

"You're so adorable when you're excited," Hermione exclaimed. Blaise gave her a short peck on the lips before continuing.

'MMM. Ribs sound really good for dinner,' Hermione thought.

"So what's for dinner?" Blaise inquired.

"Yeah, I agree. Beef ribs sound really god," He continued.

After a moment, Hermione jerked in her chair. "But... I... erm... Did I say anything about beef ribs? I didn't, but I was thinking about beef ribs. I KNOW I didn't say anything about beef ribs!

"Oh well, further proof that we're meant for each other. Already our minds are starting to become one!" As she leaned over and kissed him. Then she stood up and got the ribs out of the icebox.

Okay, so not really that humorous. I witnessed this happening to my parents today. So maybe I added some color, and changed the characters, and the fact that my parents have been married longer than I imagine these two to have been, and left a character out. It felt better this way.
