Yuna whimpered, looking down at the necklace in her hands. It was his necklace. The symbol for Zanarkand shimmered in the afternoon sun. Rikku patted Yuna's back and started walking away. Yuna dropped to the ground and started sobbing into her hands. She barely noticed Rikku start to walk away.
"Are you going to be alright Yunie?" Yuna merely nodded and started crying harder. Yuna tried to stop crying to tell Rikku to let her have some time alone, but the tears kept falling. Rikku stood, waiting for an answer.
"I-I'll be fine, really. Can I have some time a-alone?" Yuna got out. Rikku nodded and sprinted in the other direction. Yuna began crying again, sobbing into the sand. The sun slowly sank on the horizon of Besaid beach. Yuna slowly fell into an uneasy sleep.

Yuna woke with a start, and heaved a sigh. Another night in her empty world. She reached over to look at the familiar picture of Tidus she kept on her dresser. Her eyes shot open she felt sand. She looked around and she slowly remembered the night before. Clutched in her hands was the necklace.
Yuna once again found tears brimming her eyes. She wiped her face on her arm and slowly rose. Lulu would be worried if she found Yuna wasn't home. She then remembered what she was holding. Raising the necklace to her nose, she smelled in the familiar smell. She called it the 'Tidus smell'. When she had came back to Besaid, she found it everywhere. The bed where he slept. The temple where he had stood. She knew she had been imagining those, but this really did smell like him.
Without thinking about it, Yuna unclasped the hook in the back and put it around her neck. She brushed her hair back and tilted her head. She felt closer to him, but only a little. 'This proves it wasn't all a dream…' She thought. For months, she wondered if Tidus had truly only been a dream of the faiths. This made her more confident that it wasn't true.
Shaken from her thoughts by a sudden rush of cool air and water, she looked towards the water. Something had disturbed the water a few feet out. Tilting her head to one side, she wadded in the water up to her ankles. She turned in a full circle, trying to find what had made the splash. It had been too big to be from a fish.
Yuna finally gave up and started heading back to the shore, but her instincts suddenly kicked in. She flung her leg backwards, feeling it make contact with something. She heard a groan and swung around.
"Nice way to greet someone you haven't seen in over a year!" Yuna raised her hand to her mouth and gasped. Was she dreaming this time? Was this all a dream? She reached out and touched him. Solid. He smiled weakly and waved.
"T-tidus!?"

AN: I know this was a pretty short chapter, but I just wanted to get the story started.
I've already played FFX-2, and unsatisfied with the different endings, I made my own! This is a sequal to FFX, taking place 2 years after the defeat of sin and the disappearance of Tidus.
