Prologue
Kagome climbed up from the Bone-eater's well from her era to her friends' after a good night's sleep. She yawned and walked to the cottage where Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku stayed. "Hey guys. I'm back!" she said as she straightened her green miniskirt and knocked on the door. No one answered. Suddenly, Kagome heard a moaning noise inside. She turned the knob and found that it wasn't locked. She opened the door and stepped inside. Suddenly, a hand closed over her eyes and another clapped over her mouth so she couldn't scream. Kagome struggled, but her attacker was too strong. For a second she felt the hand smothering her screams was removed, but a slightly wet handkerchief replaced it. The girl was out of breath, so she breathed in, gasping, but suddenly felt dizzy and lightheaded, blacking out, collapsing into her attacker's arms. Kagome's attacker laughed and set the limp Kagome in a sitting position on the floor, tying her hands behind her around one of the cottage's supporting beams. Then, the attacker tied a blindfold over her eyes and a thick handkerchief over the unconscious girl's mouth, leaving her nose exposed to breathe. "I think that's secure enough. She won't be able to get away," the kidnapper said, triumphant, "Soon I'll be able to have my revenge against Inuyasha," laughing with an evil cackle and a glance at Kagome, the key to that revenge.
