Assumptions
Neither had said a word; it was just Sora's loud munching and slobbering noises in the air. Kairi knew not to bother Sora while he was eating for food had weird effects on this kid.
Halfway through his super duper extra spectacular bologna, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sardine sandwich, he looked up at Kairi, cheeks bulging with his yet to be swallowed food. Kairi thought he looked adorable, just completely kissable.
Kairi herself had a chocolate bar that she barely touched. She wasn't as hungry as Sora constantly was. She was too focused on looking at him anyhow.
After swallowing the mouthful of sandwich, Sora miraculously spoke. "Kairi…"
"Yes?" she replied, gazing into Sora's eyes. They were snacking amidst the sunset on the pier, just inches from each other, staring into the other's eyes.
Sora's lips were dabbed with a bit of mayonnaise, but Kairi didn't mind. He was still the picture of adorable.
Sora's childlike, vivid blue eyes still held Kairi's own. Her heart began to flutter.
"I just wanted to ask…"
Kairi's heart broke into a race right about now. She always hoped that Sora would throw the question to her about being a couple. She liked him, and sure was fairly sure that he felt the same way. Could it be?
Kairi began to grin widely. She leaned closer to Sora, batting her eyelashes. "Anything, Sora, anything."
Any moment, he would ask her what she has been dying to hear since forever. She could picture them holding hands while walking on the beach, sharing their first kiss, getting married, and having two little rugrats scurrying about on the floor. Her wish was coming true! Sora was going to ask her to date him!
Sora weakly grinned, leaning backwards away from Kairi, who was too close for comfort. Kairi noted he wasn't as excited; maybe he was just nervous about declaring his love for her.
"I just wanted to ask if you wanted your chocolate bar."
Kairi was sure that if she were a cartoon character, her eyeballs would have smashed out of their sockets.
This wasn't what she had in mind.
"Sure, Sora," she said sweetly, "here you go!"
And with that, she jammed it into his mouth with her closed fist, leaving him confused and muffled.
Curse her damn assumptions.
Notes: I was really bored, so don't expect this to go any further. I know I'm good at bloopers and stuff, but I wanted to go more for the ironic type of humors, where you think something is happening but it's quite the opposite. Hope you enjoyed it, and tell me what you thought!
