Freddy vs. Jason: The Rematch

Chapter 7: Katherine Krueger

It was about 1:30 in the morning and Katherine Krueger, more commonly known as Maggie, had just arrived home after a hellish day at the shelter. One of the kids had thrown a racial slur at another and that had set off the worst multi-person fight the shelter had ever experienced. Several kids and staff had been hurt and one kid had been almost killed. The hospital hadn't updated on his condition. It figures this had to happen on her birthday. Deciding the best thing to do was go straight to bed, that is what the daughter of the Springwood Slasher did. Getting into her sleeping outfit, she settled under the sheets of her bed and was asleep within no time.

A loud clicking noise caused Maggie to jump up in her bed but when she saw that there was nothing around, she calmed down. Right before her head hit the pillow again; the TV clicked on, static covering the screen. Maggie was about to turn it off when a female news reporter appeared on the screen and Maggie set the remote back on her head board to listen.

"And in local news, two bodies were found this afternoon in what is presumed to be the homes of the victims. The victims were brutally murdered apparently in their sleep. This is extremely worrisome for the local police because that brutality suggests a Springwood Slasher copycat. We warn you, the footage you are about to see may disturb you."

The picture then switched to that of the victims. One of them was a blonde girl who had two holes under her chin and two holes in the top of her head, right above the ones on her chin. A respectably sized pool of blood surrounded her head. The second victim was a large black man who had four long gashes that went from his right side to his chest and his body was drenched in his own blood. Maggie recognized them both; they were her two closest friends, Tracy and Doc.

She felt like she was going to throw up and when she moved to get out of bed, the whole room changed into the basement of the shelter. Maggie looked down and saw she was wearing the same clothes that she had been wearing the day...

"You blew me apart."

Maggie whirled around and found herself staring into the cold, malicious eyes of her father, the Springwood Slasher, Freddy Krueger.

"Hello princess. How are things?"

Maggie took several steps back and her father took several steps forward.

"What's wrong? I thought you'd be happy to see your father. Or...wait...maybe your afraid. Afraid of how angry I might be about you blowing me up. I am very angry about that and now," Freddy clicked his finger blades as he raised his glove, "It's time to take your medicine!"

Freddy slashed down and his daughter regained her composure, ducking under the attack. Freddy then shot his left foot backward, catching his daughter a devastating blow to the jaw. Maggie flipped end over end twice before slamming into the ground next to the spiked baseball bat she had used that day. As her father walked toward her, she picked up the crude weapon and swung it at her fathers' legs. Freddy jumped back, avoiding the blow and yet, giving his daughter the time to get to her feet.

"You think you know how to use that bitch?" Freddy asked menacingly.

Maggie tightened her grip on the bat and swung it downward at Freddy's left shoulder. Freddy weaved right under the blow and his daughter used her position to swing the bat at Freddys' head. Freddy ducked under this and when his daughter brought the bat down on his head, he hopped to the side, barely missing one of the very large nails sticking out the tip of the bat. Freddy chuckled and kicked the bat out of his daughters hands and she backed away from him. Freddy then kicked her hard in the gut, causing her to fly back into several wooden crates, smashing some of them. Maggie felt a dull pain in her back as he tried to get back up and suddenly, a powerful force lifted her up and slammed her into the same pole that Freddy had been pinned to when the blew him up.

"Look familiar Katherine?" Freddy asked.

It did, but Katherine wasn't going to answer her father.

"I thought it might. Now hold still."

Maggie was scared, but she wasn't going to let that fear show. Then, out of nowhere, Freddy pulled a crowbar out from behind his back and plunged it into Katherines' chest; just like she had done to him. Maggie screamed in agony and she kept screaming, the pain she was in was far worse than anything she had ever experienced in her life! Then, Freddy pulled out a pipe bomb and brought it up to his mouth. He gave a short puff of breath and a small ball of fire came from his mouth, lighting the fuse.

Maggie saw what he was doing through blurry eyes, she was still alive and she knew that if she could just focus, she would survive this nightmare. Freddy then grinned and plunged the bomb into her chest next to the crowbar, gaining another scream of pain from his daughter. The fuse dwindled and Freddy said one last thing to his daughter.

"Happy Birthday Princess."

Freddy then teleported out of the blast radius of the bomb and Maggie had one last thought: 'This is the worst birthday present I've ever had!' before the bomb exploded, spraying bits and pieces of Katherine Krueger all over the place.

"That's it then, 8 down, 1 to go. I'm coming for you Jason!"
