CHAPTER 1
It was a normal day for the Eds; Double D was making wacky inventions, Eddy thinking up scams, and Ed trying to stay safe from Sarah. Double D finished his invention and went over to Eddy's house. They looked over it, and Double D explained what it was. "This, Eddy, is the Alternator!" Double D said, grinning.
"What's it do? I'll ask Ed. He's good with all the sci-fi mumbo jumbo," Eddy replied. He called Ed on the phone and Ed immediately came over.
"ONE PLUS ONE EQUALS ONE ON A BUN! Hiya, guys!" Ed walked over to the others, laughing. He picked up the Alternator, and looked at it. "Cool! The Alternator! The independent aliens of Gorlax 5 used this device to-"
"To what, Ed?" Eddy cut in.
"They used it to-" Ed said again.
"What's going on in here?! Mom says no guests before supper, Ed! I'm telling on you!" Sarah shouted, bursting through the door with Jimmy.
"Please Sarah, don't tell Mom! I'll get grounded again! I just got the stairs back yesterday! Please, please, please, Sarah! Don't tell Mom!" Ed pleaded to Sarah, as the others just stared.
"Oh fine, Ed. Just don't make trouble. Let's go, Jimmy," Sarah replied. She saw the Alternator in Ed's hands. "Hey, Ed! What's that thing?"
"That would be the Alternator, Sarah," Double D interjected. Kevin's bike crashed through the wall then, followed by Kevin running inside with Rolf, Nazz, and Jonny (with Plank, of course).
"Hey dorks! Could someone help with my bike?" Kevin snorted at the Eds.
"What is that thing-a-ma-doodad the no brained Ed boy is holding?" Rolf asked.
"It's the Alternator, Rolf. It's designed for-" Double D said as Eddy smacked the red button on the Alternator's panel. A giant portal appeared next to the kids and sucked them all in. As it was happening, Eddy asked, "Double D, what's the Alternator for?" "The Alternator alternates our universes, of course," Double D replied nonchalantly.
"Oh. Maybe next time you'll tell me first!" Eddy groaned as he and the others got sucked in.
