The noise of helicopters infiltrated the night, filling the whole world it
seemed. Everything seemed to rattle with the sound as the dark shapes of
the flying machines dropped and moved over the city like flies, with just
two thin white lights stretching out from each of them, checking the ground
below. All sounds are louder at night, and at three in the morning, a swarm
of helicopters is very, very loud; when you're scared it sounds even
louder.
Below hidden in deep dark shadows, shrinking away from the invading lights, people put their hands over their ears as they looked up at the terrifying dangerous skies. Even with their hands over their ears, it didn't block out the racket. The clatter of the blades and the roar of the engines were deafening. Few people got to feel the blast of air getting stronger and stronger, blowing their hair then buffeting their bodies. The blasts of whirlwind air from the helicopters sent storms of dust and leaves and rubbish flying upwards in an almost anti-gravity manner.
The dark suited pilots seated proudly in the helicopters glanced out through the dark Perspex around them occasionally at the dark world below them, but focused mainly on the glow of the dashboard lights in front of them, and the green light on the navigation table.
Below them, similarly suited people ran in groups throughout the streets, armed to the teeth, on the look out for the dirt that usually littered the streets; the Verts - the humans that disgusted them and were a virus infecting their otherwise perfect world, and it was these people they solely wished to destroy. The simultaneous pounding of their boots on the dirty ground was just faded out by the machines hovering above them as they moved routinely throughout the meandering streets.
Helicopters swarmed past the tower that dominated the city, overlooking the dark chaos below. The dark storm clouds that constantly swarmed the skies swirled above the tower and seemed to melt down to the top of it.
Within the building on the highest floor, a tall man smiled darkly, his eyes narrowed into dangerous lion like slits as he watched the routine patrols he ordered. With his hands proudly clasped behind his back, he chuckled to himself as he walked across the floor, watching gleefully out through the large window that stretched and ran across the wall.
"Isn't it wonderful" he mused out loud, "this world which I have created? So very, very almost perfect..." he then sneered as he looked down below at the dark shadows of the city that appeared seemingly deserted, "as soon as all those disgusting verts, those diseases, are wiped out from the system, then, THEN this world will be perfect" he purred.
His dark scarlet woman, seated in the leather chair at the desk behind him smiled just as darkly as him, with a sparkle in her ebony eyes. "Of course it will be. All this, it's yours... all yours, and you deserve it". she stood up in one fluent movement from the chair and stalked across the room towards him, slipping around his side to slide her arms around his waist.
"Mine" he whispered and turned looking into her eyes, laughing with her obliviously as the helicopters swarmed past outside like flies. He pulled her towards him, pressing their mouths together and letting their tongues battle in a possessive powerful and passionate kiss.
