Ivy's and Draco's eyes met, and they both looked away.

Has it always been this way, and I just didn't notice? Ivy thought trying to pay attention to the continuous talking of Hermione on an assignment.

Ivy thought Draco was fairly cute, with his blond hair, blue eyes, and was so cruel. She hated it when he teased Hermione, her cousin, or Harry or Ron. But she can't help but think its kind of cute, In a way, anyway.

"Students, I'm pairing for a potion assignment." Professor Snape announced loudly. A few groans and a shuffle of papers, then it grew silent. "Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger." Snape said both names in a snappy, annoyed tone. "Draco Malfoy and..." he paused a long time before landing his eyes on a blond haired, blue eyed girl in the back. "Ivy Star."

Could it be? My only chance to tell him? Or maybe just ask him to meet me at the lake. Yeah, that's it. Good, now just stay calm and cool. Ivy kept repeating it over and over in her head as Draco made his way to the wooden chair at the table.

I've never really 'talked' to Ivy, since I really don't hang around her much, Draco thought as he sat in the chair next to her, but she is cute, I wonder if she likes me?

Draco tries to act cool as other students are put together. Snape writes the ingredients on the board, and Ivy and Draco both reach for the jar of dragons blood. There hands touch and Draco pulls away quickly. He takes another jar instead and starts to mash it with a wooden hammer.

Ivy stares oddly at Draco as he pounds the ingredient to powder. After a few seconds, she speaks up, "Uh, Draco?"

"Yeah?" he asks frustrated as he mashes harder.

"You're suppose to stir the dragons blood with snake poison, it never says to mash flubber worms." Ivy says high spirited, trying to get him on track.

"Oh." He said. He was usually great at Potions, what was wrong with him today? Draco tried to change the subject of his mistake and said, "You can stir the ingredients, I'll go get the other ingredients off the shelf." Ivy had already got a few of the ingredients since there was a shelf right behind her. But, the ingredients they needed now were in the front of the room.

"Hurry up, you have twenty minutes." Snape said as he looked strangely at Ron, who was dumping loads of mixed dragon blood and snake poison.

Draco came back with a few bottles and set them in front of Ivy.

"What's this?" she asked as he sat in his chair and slouched.

"The ingredients." Draco said in an obvious sort of tone.

"Well I know that, but aren't you doing any work at all?" Ivy asked holding out a large jar.

"Well..." he looked at Ivy and tried to speak, and when he finally did, he couldn't bealive what he said. "Would you like me to walk you to your next class?" Draco felt a pang of idiotic sense in his stomach. He gave a weak smile and looked away.

"Um... sure." Ivy said smiling.

"Really?" Draco said loudly. The whole class turned around to see Draco smiling at Ivy. She tried to focus on the jar of flubber worms as everyone in the room stared. Finally they all looked away and continued their work.

"Yes, really." Ivy said softly. She gave him a very small jar and told him to pour it all in the cauldron.

"There, we're done." Ivy said smiling as Professor Snape came to inspect their cauldron. Ivy looked up at Snape and gulped. Draco looked away.

"Hmm..." Snape thought a moment. He inspected it and smirked.

"Well done, for you two anyway." He said. They both smiled as the bell for class rang, and they walked to the next class they had together.
