Authoress's notes: yes, I know! Another one! It seems that the Muse is still lingering. Here's a song for the third movie/book, The Return of the King. I was writing a birthday card for my mom's birthday, and this came along with. Enjoy! (ya'll know whose PoV this is, right?)
Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to the Lord of the Rings; that belongs to Professor J.R.R Tolkien – and since I'm basing a few things on the movie characters, then credit is also due to Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema.
Rating: PGish, I suppose.
The Rohirrim ride:
Side by side.
They ride to war,
Not knowing what's in store.
They ride to battle, to death and glory,
Their children stay at home, their wives worry.
Death is strange; such is the world.
In truth – to life I'd rather keep hold.
Life and death are the only things
With which this harsh reality rings.
I miss dear old Pippin,
Always so cheerful,
I wonder how he is;
I'm suddenly so fearful.
He is in Minas Tirith
With Gandalf the White.
I cannot let him go,
Try as I might.
I miss him so,
And yet I know,
That with Gandalf –
He is all right.
I hope again to see him,
Someday, sometime,
Smoking Leaf in his house,
Or mayhap in mine.
Take care of him,Gandalf,
He's more fragile that he looks
But still he is so brave –
Bravest of all Tooks.
