Disclaimer- I do not own Inuyasha. I can never hope to.
I'm a beginning writer for Inuyasha fanfics, and this is my first one. I'm
open to productive criticism, nothing more. Please review this and tell me
what you think! Include pointers and ideas to make my next chapter more
interesting! Oh, and a suggestion for a new title for my stories would be
most appreciated.
*~*~*~*~Chapter Three*~*~*~*~
Kagome sighed and squinted open one eye to look at her alarm clock. 'It's twelve o'clock?' she thought with surprise, because she had never slept in that late, even on a weekend. 'I must have been really tired'. She looked down, expecting to see Inuyasha, but when she did, he wasn't there. 'Where could he be?' she wondered as she got out from under her warm sheets and put on her robe and slippers.
She walked down stairs and discovered Inuyasha leaning on the wall next to the refrigerator.
"It's about time you got up, bed head", her mother teased.
"Why didn't you wake me up Inuyasha?" Kagome asked.
"You, er, looked so peaceful I didn't want to disturb you", he answered, turning red.
"Uh, I mean it's not like it's my job, anyways", he quickly recovered.
"Okay, well thanks for letting me sleep. I think I kind of needed it", said Kagome, as she settled down to the steaming breakfast her mother had placed in front of her.
The tasty aroma tingled Inuyasha's nose, and his mouth began to water.
"Would you like some?" offered Mrs. Higurashi kindly.
"Sure", Inuyasha replied eagerly, and sat down next to Kagome. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Inuyasha, how about a little help?"
"Oh, sorry".
Inuyasha reached down, grasped Kagome's hand, and lifted her through the well.
"So what's the rumor this time?" asked Kagome, referring to the shard hunts.
"A village a ways from here said they were having trouble with a centipede youkai. Said that it was pretty big and vicious, but nothing we can't handle", he said.
"Okay, then off to the village!" she exclaimed cheerfully.
'She looks so beautiful when she's happy' he thought, but then berated himself when he realized how love sick that sounded.
'Well it's not like I can lie and say I don't love her' he thought again.
The village came into sight, and Kagome sighed readily.
"KAGOME!!" screamed Shippou happily, and pounced on her chest, with Miroku and Sango smiling behind him.
"Ah, Shippou, have you been good for Kaede?"
He smiled proudly and answered, "Yep, sure have! Got any treats for me?"
She giggled at his innocence and reached into her bag to pull out a chocolate bar, at which he squealed and took immediately.
"Oi, we need to get going if we ever hope to make it to that village", said Inuyasha, envious of Shippou for his close contact with Kagome, even though the kitsune didn't see it that way.
"Ok theths, leths go!" Shippou slurred with his chocolate bar hanging out of his mouth and melted chocolate dripping down his face and staining his hands. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ^So pretty!
"Yo, I'm going to get some food, coming Shippou?" Inuyasha requested.
"Yeah! Were going to get a lot of food for Kagome-sama, right Inuyasha?" Shippou answered.
Inuyasha's response was a grunt as he took off, with Shippou trailing behind him.
"You know, Inuyasha's been kind of nice to Shippou lately", pointed out Sango.
*Snort* "It won't last long, trust me", joked Miroku, but even as he said that, Kagome gave him a glare.
"Yeah, I've noticed it too. He usually would of just left without asking Shippou. Wonder what's gotten into him?" agreed Kagome.
"Maybe it's a stage", suggested Sango.
"Maybe", Kagome said.
"A stage that won't last long", snickered Miroku.
"Shut up!" hissed Kagome.
"Hey, I got the fish", said Inuyasha as he walked in carrying four large fish and Shippou proudly puffing out his chest as he carried two tiny ones.
Kagome sniggered, and said, "Okay, give me the fish and I'll cook them".
After dinner and every one had eaten their fill, by the light of the campfire and her electric lantern, Kagome spread out her sleeping bag beneath a large tree, at which Inuyasha sat on a low branch.
"'Night, Inuyasha" yawned Kagome sleepily, with Shippou curled up next to her head on her pillow.
"Keh. Good night. Don't forget, we have to hunt down the shard in that centipede in that village tomorrow ", he responded huskily.
"Mmhmm", said Kagome in submission from exhaustion.
Author's notes
Wow! That was like the longest one, for me anyways. I hope I can continue making ones as long as that or longer. Please write reviews!! Oh, and I'm changing my stories' title to 'Caring Hanyou; My Refuge.' Until you respond if I should keep my old title or change it to this new one, I will STILL HAVE MY OLD TITLE!
Please tell me if you like that and I should change it to that or keep it the same!!
REVIEW!
most appreciated.
