Disclaimer- I do not own Inuyasha. I can never hope to.
I'm a beginning writer for Inuyasha fanfics, and this is my first one. I'm
open to productive criticism, nothing more. Please review this and tell me
what you think! Include pointers and ideas to make my next chapter more
interesting! Oh, and a suggestion for a new title for my stories would be
most appreciated.
Dark Wind of Temptation: Okay, well, in this chapter, I'll put some more action in it. (Fighting action, people, get your mind out of the gutter!)
*~*~*~*~Chapter Five*~*~*~*~
Sango yawned and stretched, raising her arms high above her scrambled hair. She peered over at Sango, who rested peacefully on her futon.
"Kagome? Wake up Kagome", she said softly as she got up.
"It's morning already?" Kagome mumbled.
"Yeah, come on, let's get dressed and meet up with the others".
"Ok."
After they had both dressed, they headed towards the boys' room, only to discover that they were already outside, seeming anxious to leave.
"Well you guys were quick", Kagome said questioningly.
"Yes, what's the problem?" asked Sango.
"There's another story about a shard, but this time they said it was in a huge and very difficult to kill beast. The villagers described it as an enormous youkai that resembles a dragon, with teeth and claws that are numerous feet long, can fly, and has been recently terrorizing the village. It has already killed at least a dozen villagers, they say", informed Miroku, enjoying his moment of spotlight.
"Keh, but it's nothing I can't handle," snorted Inuyasha.
"So in what direction shall we go in, then?" inquired Kagome, deciding to ignore Inuyasha's input.
"They said it was to the South", Miroku said, with worry growing on his brow. "It's in the direction of Naraku."
"Oh", Kagome said in trepidation.
Inuyasha, noticing her forbidding expression, said, "It's alright Kagome, we can kill it easily".
Kagome smiled and thought, 'I hope so.'

As the group neared their destination, the sky had become dark and the air was thick with an evil aura. Kagome shivered, not because it was cold, but because she had an extremely bad feeling about this. Some thing was telling her that there was going to be more than just a dragon youkai.
Inuyasha halted abruptly, causing Kagome to bump into him, and Shippou squealed.
"What is it?" she whispered; for some odd reason she thought it would be safer if she did so. She knew what he was going to say, for she could feel the presence of several shards.
"Naraku", Inuyasha said definitely.
This made Sango, Miroku, and Kirara stop, as they surveyed their surroundings cautiously.
Expectantly, a voice loomed out of the dimness, "So, Inuyasha, you dare to venture into my boundaries?"
"Heh, we wouldn't be out here for nothin'", Inuyasha spoke.
Naraku's white gorilla cloak came into view, and behind him, the dragon youkai they had heard so much about.
"Are you prepared, Inuyasha?" Naraku asked slyly.
"Bring it on".
The dragon, obviously one of Naraku's new detachments, lunged at Inuyasha, opening his mouth to reveal several rows of long, dagger like teeth.
Already anticipating that move, Inuyasha slammed down Tessiuga, {I think that's how you spell it}, and yelled, "Kaze no Kizu!"
The dragon dodged it easily, much to Inuyasha's surprise, and swiped a jagged paw at his stomach, leaving three gashes, oozing with blood.
"Inuyasha!" screamed Kagome desperately, as she drew her bow and pulled it back with an arrow, and launched it at the demon's heart.
The arrow lunged right into its chest. Then to her horror, the arrow sunk in, and did the dragon no harm. Since that caught the dragon off guard, despite his belly wounds, Inuyasha again struck his sword into the ground as he bellowed 'Kaze no Kizu', and the streaks of obscure light tore through the dragon.
Again, 'Kaze no Kizu' left the dragon untouched.
"I don't get it, why won't you die, bastard!" roared Inuyasha incredulously.
"Wait, Inuyasha, there is no way you can kill this demon with your sword! Kagome must use her arrows and my ofuda, because before, her arrow alone was not powerful enough for it. Here, Kagome" Miroku said, as he handed her some of his ofuda.
Inuyasha leapt up and stabbed the dragon, giving Kagome enough time to draw her bow.
She nodded and stuck the ofuda on the end of one of her arrows, took aim at its heart, and let go.
This time, as the arrow pierced through the dragon's skin and into its heart, it disintegrated.
Naraku, who saw this with a displeased face, disappeared, and the others discovered it had just been a puppet, not the actual Naraku.
Once he was out of sight, Kagome lost control.
"Oh, Inuyasha!" Kagome said, as she ran towards him, tears streaming down her pale cheeks. "Are you alright?"
"I.. I'll be fine, please don't cry", Inuyasha said in a raspy voice, his breaths coming in deep heaves.
Sango dashed towards them with Kirara, and said, "Miroku, see if you can get Inuyasha on Kirara, and we'll take him to Kaede."
"Hai", Miroku answered gravely, while carefully stooping down to pick up Inuyasha and set him gently on Kirara's back.
He groaned in pain unwillingly and blushed. Kagome climbed on behind him, and picked up his head so it rested in his lap.
"It'll be okay, Inuyasha, we're bringing you to Kaede."
"Kagome, I love you", he said suddenly, gazing up into her beautiful eyes.
She gasped, but then said, "I love you too".
With that, he fell unconscious.
'Inuyasha, please hang in there'.

Well, what did you think? Please read and review! Oh, and 'Hai' is Japanese for yes, in case you didn't know. I think I'm getting better at this.
