Someone Like Me

"Tonight our final contestant is Ginny Weasely." Dumbledore's eyes twinkled bright blue as he watched with interest as young Ginny, a petite graceful red headed girl made her way to the sparkling ivory piano, as she sat down she began to play a tune which she composed herself, a shock to the students and staff at Hogwarts as she began to play, then a bigger shock overcame them as she opened her mouth – a beautiful but very sad voice began to open her heart, no one knew what or who the song was meant for but they were simply mesmerised, of course it was meant to her love, Dumbledore knew that much, a side ways glance at him, he knew that the young man made lingering glances at the youngest Weasley, the young man reminded him of Severus Snape, the way he glanced at Lily Evans, many years ago.

"Don't let your head, rule your heart, don't let your world, fall apart, don't keep it all to yourself, just let all your emotions run free, with some one like me, that's the way it should be, someone like me.

I know it's hard when your feeling down, to let your feet up off the ground, we make mistakes but doesn't everyone, you don't always have to agree, with someone like me, that's the way it should be, someone like me.

We know the story so far, what you want and who you are, let all your emotions run free, you don't always have to agree, with someone like me, that's the way it should be, someone like me. Someone like me."

As the song finished many clapped and yelled for Ginny at the sweet age of 16, for the first time this remarkable young lady opened up her heart and mind.

As the judges were deciding on the winner for the talent show, Ginny heard a tearful voice behind her, knowing who the voice belonged to she very slowly turned around, she didn't care to be a winner, she just wanted him to see her for who she was, someone who cared and loved him for who he was – the young man, not the hero.

"Ginny, did you really mean it?"

She could only reply with a few simple words,

"I meant it all Harry!"

As she ran out of the hall, not only did she leave her trophy but a boy who never felt as much love or happiness from the early days he spent with his parents.

(The song "Someone Like Me" was sung by Atomic Kitten 2004)
